Hubby and I had a luverly breakfast at The Eye Opener. I prefer my omelets to be prepared as a scramble, and this request was cheerfully granted (I opted to build my own with tomatoes, mushrooms, and feta). Hubby had buckwheat pancakes with eggs over medium (perfectly prepared) and bacon. Coffee was strong, hot, and our cups were kept full. Our server was friendly and efficient. We really enjoyed our meal and we won’t hesitate to come back if we’re in Akron again.
Eye opened.. I went here for breakfast. I got the Eggs Benedict and potatoes, which were absolutely delicious. However, service was extremely slow and the floor was horribly dirty. Crumbs everywhere. Gross. Not sure I would go back.
Food bad, service worse. I’ve been there numerous times and the food and service goes from bad to worse. I won’t EVER go back either. I’ve witnessed the owners be extremely rude to people, treat them horribly….when they only have simple requests or complaints. They are not open to learning how to be better at customer service. Too bad…..
Food was an 8/10. Service was a 2/10 at best: Took 30 min for two simple breakfast orders. Hostess/server had no personality. At no time did the server acknowledge wait time for food or ask us how it was. Very disappointing experience. Second and, probably, last time going as our first experience was identical to this one.

Love breakfast. This has become a regular spot for us since moving to Akron a month ago. The meal starts with coffee, and I often opt for the flavored coffee. The decision about breakfast is more difficult as there are many fine choices. The grits are pretty good–which is high praise from a former southerner who grew up eating grits.My nephew loved his chocolate chip pancakes.The wait staff are friendly and work very hard keeping up with everyone’s wants and delivering the food while it is still hot.
