GREAT peppermint mocha but no wifi
Go to Starbucks Instead. Many of their menu items sounded good on paper, but they were horribly executed. Reminded me of airline food. Their scone was nothing of the sort. Completely wrong type of bread texture and density. The sandwiches were all pre-assembled, should be the type of thing that is made-to-order with fresh ingredients. Spent about $18 between two of us on breakfast and were offended by the waste of our money and the food we didn’t eat.
Strong and Delicious. Sure, the place has a cutely designed interior and is littered with 20-somethings hammering away at MacBooks. But so does every coffee shop on the planet. To be a great coffee shop the only thing that matters is the plain coffee, tasted black. The coffee at Erie Island is fantastic, even if it is shockingly dark roasted for a house blend. The coffee was smoky, perfectly bitter, and served piping hot. A little more expensive than most small coffees (1.90 I think?), but certainly worth the extra .40.
Fantastic!. The service was great and the atmosphere even better. I ordered a Veggie Lunch Crush and my partner ordered the French Toast Crush. There was a mix-up with our order, but the staff was more than willing to correct the error. Both sandwiches were great in their own way. The French Toast was sweet but not overly sweet and the same could be said for the spiciness of the Veggie. We also had a caramel frappe and a hot chocolate and both were very well made. We will definitely be back next time we are in Cleveland. This place is fantastic!
Love it!. Living in the Buckeye Building above Flannery’s on E 4th, I probably visit Erie Island 4 times a week for coffee and again on the weekend for a hangover killing breakfast sandwich. I couldn’t talk any higher of an establishment than this one. Friendly staff, great ambiance, coffee and sandwiches. Also dig the music. I’ve never had a bad experience in the 40-50 times I’ve been there. A must for the Clevelander that needs their morning cup.
Friendly place! Excellent coffee!. My wife & I went to check out Flogging Molly at the House of Blues in Cleveland on Friday night, & had arrived a little early for the show… so we decided to take a stroll down this side-street before the wind froze us completely though.We happened upon this coffee shop, and decided it would be the perfect thing to warm us up.I went with a mocha, and Bethany went with the ivory mocha. They were artfully crafted, topped with whipped-cream and a chocolate covered coffee bean in a rather large nice ceramic mug.The place was very clean and bright, and the staff could not have been friendlier. Within a few minutes around the ordering process, we discussed why we where there, that we came form Pittsburgh, how the streets in Cleveland are laid out in squares and Pittsburgh is laid out in Triangles, and how the coffee shop an just opened a few days before our arrival.I wish them the best of luck, recommend anyone who happens to be in Cleveland to check the place out, and we’ll definitely be back!
