Fantastic dinner tonight at Lola! We started with a salad & the scallop ceviche. The scallop ceviche was prepared to perfection with a citrus oil, chili flakes & sea salt that compliment eachother and balance the scallops perfectly. I had the roasted root vegetable entree and it was great! My dad had the chocolate peanut butter mousse with banana and it left him speechless. Chef Michael Symon did great this this restaurant and I’d recommend it as a must visit if you go to Cleveland!

My boss grew up in Cleveland and had always wanted to eat here. We finally had the chance and unfortunately, we were all disappointed. The service was horrible. It took 45 minutes to get our meal and then one of them came out wrong and it took another 25 minutes for the replacement. They redeemed themselves by comping that one – rightfully so. I did like the light up bar areas, the ‘ordering’ process is by ipads, and they have a great bar menu – including thier unique beer selections. It’s also in a really cool part of town, and I will say that once we did get our food it was very good. cinfullysimple.com

Recently we stayed in Cleveland at the Hyatt at the Arcade and from our room window at the back of the hotel we could see a little closed off street type walking mall. We walked around that evening trying to decide where to eat and ended up (after reading the reviews) going to Michael Symons Lola. It was a Friday evening and we had not made reservations (I suggest you do) they did not have any seating available inside but luckily since it was still rather early they had a few open tables on the patio area. It was a pleasant evening to be July and there was a talented young man with his dog singing on the patio area next door. I saw in the reviews that some had not liked that but I thought his singing added a little extra to the evening. We were greeted by our waiter, Brian, and given a tablet from which to order our drinks. My husband (who is technologically impaired) did not like this feature but I did as I felt eliminating the middle man so to speak meant that exactly what we ordered was more likely to be delivered since I am assuming the order went straight to the bar rather than the waiter taking the order and then giving it to the bartender, etc.The menu had a good, if not extensive, selection. I ordered the chicken which was brined and then roasted. Brian informed us that since everything is cooked to order, it would take about 40 or 45 minutes to prepare if we didnt mind waiting. He assured me it would be worth the wait. My husband ordered the smoked Hampshire pork chop over polenta. Our drinks arrived and we settled in for our wait. With the singer next door and the people watching of everyone walking by on the street it really did not seem like it took THAT long and boy, was Brian right! My chicken arrived (along with a chicken sausage)on a bed of mashed Yukon gold potatoes and with a smattering of fava beans, grilled onion and au jus. It was cooked to perfection and it looked as good as it tasted. My husbands smoked pork chop was sliced on the cheesy polenta with chiles and bbq onions(I tasted his too). It was so tender you could cut it with a fork. The meal was fabulous but I just couldnt eat it all. On top of all that, they sent out a complimentary dessert which was also fabulous. It was called the 6 a.m. Special and consisted of Brioche French Toast with maple bacon ice cream and caramelized apples. It had some kind of wafer on top that was great. The thought of bacon and ice cream together did not sound appetizing to me at all but the combination was fantastic! It was a little on the pricey side but well worth it. Everything, from the dcor (inside), to the service (Brian was awesome), to the food was simply amazing. If I ever come back to Cleveland, we are definitely going to Lola!

When Iron Chef Michael Symon was first competing to become an Iron Chef (I’m a big food network geek) and I found out he was from Cleveland – I was an instant fan and looking for him to winAs soon as he won, I made reservations and took the 45min drive to Lola’s (I’ve been back dozens of times since)Parts of the menu change often (which I love) but consistent are the pork belly, the lola fries, and the 6am Special (the latter 2 are must haves every time I go

Dinner & drinks @ Lola. The kir royal I ordered at the bar wasn’t very good but the dinner was fantastic. Delicious

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary recently at Lola. The appetizers was the beef cheek pierogies. They were prepared well and tasted great. My wife got the hangar steak and I ate the Moulard Duck. Her steak was perfectly prepared and the side of Lola fries were the perfect side. The duck was a perfect medium rare. Flavorful and tender. Our dessert was the 6am special. The dessert was beyond ridiculous. The waiter was attentive and very good. Lola also gave us an anniversary dessert. I cannot say enough good things about our Lola experience.
