I enjoyed the food it was great. However a server that claimed to be the manager was very rude to me, during the morning going into afternoon shift. I asked for the owner name and number and she only offered the his name. Her attitude is a bad reflection on the history of that cafe and it made me wonder rather or not the cafe was ever known for discriminating a certain group of individual. I will try to contact the owner and express my concerns.

Was in Cleveland this past weekend for a wedding reception. After reading reviews and seeing the prices, decided it was worth a try. Can’t go wrong with the corned beef and chips. The draft and a shot deal is also a must do. Dark dingy place with some sketchy locals but that’s what makes the place. The bartender is great. She is super friendly and fun. Give it a try.

Bang for your buck…. Had the best sandwich I’ve had in some time here today. Arrived early enough to get the daily special, any sandwich except the corned beef served with chips, a pickle spear and a soft drink all for $5.99. At the advice of the extremely friendly and helpful bar maid I ordered the pastramie sandwich. I added swiss cheese and horseradish sauce and mustard. It came with shredded lettuce and tomato. It was warm, the cheese melted to perfection and had just the roght ratio of fat to meat for a moist, lucious and tasty sandwich. The cafe / bar is paneled in dark wood and has the 1980 prices for drinks. Well drinks are $2.00, a draft is $1.35 (the tall is $2.00), domestic bottled beer is $2.25 and imports were $3.25. The most expensive sandwich is the corned beef at $8.95.In case there are skeptics out there I am also a fan of Slyman’s and this compares favorably to that fine establishment.

Love this place. Great food for cheap, and a shot and a beer special for three bucks. Brought a buddy from home (boston)here and he kept saying what an awesome spot it was. Sandwiches are awesome and great service. You pay cash per round of drinks each round. Old school place, love it. Great people working there.

Best. Sandwich. Ever.. Out to Cleveland on Business this week and I stumbled across this fantastic cafe after gettings a quick tour from Cleveland’s Executive of small business Growth which was completely unexpected and totally awesome. I ordered the Roast Beef Sandwich which was prepared to perfection by an entertaining gentleman named Rich. I absolutely love sandwiches and have enjoyed them all over the country but this one by far takes first prize. Exceptional meat, perfect amount of condiments, delicious bread, quality produce, and best of all, a fair price. If you are in the area I highly recommend this place for a quick, comfortable meal and a lovely smile from Rich’s lady help behind the counter whose name I am sorry that I did not catch.
