I went there last night with a group of people and have never experienced worse service in my life. We got there pretty late – around 12:45 and as soon as we walked in they locked the door so that nobody else comes in, although we had more people joing our party. The waitress was a very sweet girl that told us there would be no problem if others joined us. The manager, on the other hand, was so rude to us and her attitude was horrible. First of all, she told us they are closing at 1 although the website clearly says they are open till 2. Then she tells us she will not serve us and that we need to leave. She even went as far as telling me to make sure the chair doesn’t hit me on the way out. They just lost some serious business here because of her and I will never go back there again which is such a shame because it truly is a great place. The owner really needs to re-evaluate who he is hiring to run his business. She does not deserve to work there. Her attitude was horrible. I have never been disrespected like that in my life.
Best drinks in Cleveland. This is a must do bar in Cleveland. From the outside it doesn’t look like much, but inside is fabulous. Live music and martinis- it doesn’t get much better.
Enjoy every visit.. Sure they are pricey…but they’re really worth it too. The drinks are all hand made and made well. You have to understand that takes time and money. I appreciate their dress code, rules and procedures in a time when everything else is about speed pouring swill and jamming as many bodies in as possible. Also, the back room is cool.

Mixed feelings about this place. From the outside it doesnt look like much, other than a dilapidated house maybe. but inside it is beautiful. tables and bar seats fill up quickly, and patrons are not permitted to stand around and clog up the place, so you must wait to be seated. you will be handed a drink menu and a small pen light due to how dark it is inside. once seated, service is very slow. we waited 20 minutes to order our first round, and it was another 20 minutes before the drinks came. they use top quality ingredients and make everything from scratch, but come on. they could make alot more money if they worked faster or hired some extra help. drinks were very good but they didnt blow me away. which they should for $16 a pop. yes you heard me right. all drinks are $16 each, but you wouldnt know that from looking at the menu. this is the kind of place you go once to check out, and probably dont go again.
A step back into a wonderful time and era. One to speakeasy and enter. Appropriate theme of heart and location. Properly crafted artisian works that delight the palate. Aromas and flavors that sooth the soul. The experience, without reservation or prejudice, 5 stars…
Sophisticated and fabulous!. Velvet Tango Room is my favorite spot for cocktails in Cleveland. Their drinks are artfully crafted with only the finest ingredients, and the Bananas Foster is a must!! The dessert is prepared tableside while the pianist plays Come On Baby Light My Fire. Visiting VTR is truly an experience- the vibe is sophisticated but not stuffy and the live music adds to the speakeasy’s allure. They have great happy hour specials, too! If you are bar hopping and looking to have a messy night on the town, VTR is definitely not for you. However, if you are looking for a place to lounge with friends in a sophisticated setting with decadent cocktails VTR is an absolute MUST!!
