I got carryout. The people working there were great, but the food was so bland. I couldn’t taste any smoke in the meat, and the sides were nothing special. Maybe I’ve been spoiled by Eli’s, but this didn’t even taste like BBQ to me.
My experience was mixed. I came for lunch to try it out. The meat (beef brisket) was tasty, but served cold on my sandwich. The beans were not the best, the baked potato casserole was good, but just mashed potatoes with cheese on top. Sauce just OK. Overall I was not impressed. Other BBQ joints will get my money.
The prices are good if you go with the daily specials. Outside of that, I got the western two meat sandwich and it was filling. The brisket was small pieces and not slices which isn’t bad and tasted great. I also had the spicy cheddar sausage link. It was fine but I think I’ll try a different meat next time instead. The sides all looked good. The mac and cheese was creamy and better than Stoffers frozen stuff. I will be going back and since Sundays kids eat free it may be this weekend. There sauces all had good flavor and actually tasted like they tried and didn’t just add stuff to cattleman’s.
