Not like it used to be at all … BAD SERVICE , Mediocre food , Grissel chili. Thank you for reviewing Price Hill ChiliEditSharePrice Hill ChiliHated itI grew up in Price Hill in the 80’s and 90’s I moved away . I was in the neighborhood Saturday 03/21/2015 and decided to visit Price Hill Chili a place I used to love to go to when I was growing up there. My partner and I were greated and sat in a closed section right in the path of the servers quarters , The Waitress was not pleased to see us and not unfriendly but not concerned with our service either. We both ordered 4 ways and a cheese coney . The chili was luke warm and the noodles were even colder barely any cheese and I mean barely any , I ate a few bites and spit out plenty of grissel and fat . I could not eat anymore . I said quite loudly that the chili is not like it used to be so the waitress cold hear me she was at the next table cleaning it . She did’nt ask if i wanted anything else to replace the chili clearly i had a plate full of food and a cheese cony sitting there afetr we had been there for over 30 min with food in front of us. at the end she asked how is everything I said its kinda ok in a disappointed voice. she asked if we were ready for our check instead of asking me if iI would like something else . She brings the check and I pay , didn’t ask if I want a box for my Uneaten meal that I am paying for. she takes my card and comes back standing at the table until I sign and write in the tip infont of her , still I left here a $5.00 tip thinking she could probably use it . still no offer of a box or anything else. she sits at the table right next to us and counts here money to close out and go home . I had to ask a random young man who may have been a busser to get me some boxes for the food I took home and eventually threw away anyway. BAD SERVICE , BAD FOOD . I am so disappointed I used to love that place it is in my blood to love that place so many memories and than this happened.
Alexia and liv. Best servers alive!
Great Hangover food. Love this place late night. Love that they still have krinkle fries. Love that I can get an egg on my 3 way. Love that it cures my hangover every time I go. Great old time waitresses. Even smells like an old time chili diner.
What School?. What passes for good food in the restaurant desert that is Cincinnati’s West Side. That being said, it’s more than passable and you’ll receive a great welcome so long as you went to high school on the West Side. Not worth a special trip however.
Not the best Chili…but good family vibe. Growing up in Cincinnati I had heard lots of good things about PHC so I was really excited to give it a try. From my first experience all I can say is don’t go there for the chili, it tasted kind of bland as if the flavor was steamed out. I’ve heard that lots of other items on there menu are worth getting though so don’t let that dissuade you from checking out this popular local joint. I just wouldn’t call a chili powerhouse. It does have a great local family vibe though and the food is very affordable.
Ol’ Home Cooking. You can have a good time with friends and family while filling up on some (not so healthy) home cooked food. What something scrumptious try the Greek Bread!!!
Best Cincinnati Chili. When I find myself on the west side of town I find myself gravitating to PHC. First off, their chili is better than Skyline or Gold Star, so they get a huge plus for having the best Cincinnati chili in my opinion. They also have quite an expansive menu, lots of options. Although I usually get their gyros or the chili. The decor is filled with tons of local high school sports memorabilia, and newspaper clippings of the local and national elected officials politicking here. The atmosphere provides the excellent opportunity for west side cultural experiences too. Where else will you see a Catholic priest drinking a beer with his dad? Or, watch the whole room spontaneously erupt into singing their high school fight song? Until I get an answer to this question, I’ll be coming back to Price Hill Chili.
