The Happy Hour times are great, even during the weekends. They offer half price sushi, only in the bar area, which still taste amazing. Try happy hour during the middle of the week, not as crowded.
We liked it. The food was good. My steak was tad overdone but it was still good.
Only one bad item . . .. My wife and I decided to go here on a week night because our favorite sushi place changed owners and chefs. The hostess told us that it would be a 20 minute wait for a table with a chef (even though there were open tables). We decided to sit at the bar. It was happy hour and the bar area was very busy. We tried a few sushi items and all were good except this taco thing that the shell overpowered whatever was inside. The soft shell crab was big and perfectly prepared. We ordered one of the hibachi meals and shared it. This was also prepared well and we enjoyed it. My wife tried 2 of their specialty drinks and she liked both of them. We will be back soon. Maybe we will wait for a table.
So-So. Its great if you dont have to pay for it! Very expensive but the food was good. People saying its bland are really saying they didn’t dump a bunch of salt and soy sauce on the food. Everything tasted fresh. Portions were acceptable. Just the bill really. Overpriced by $5 a plate I’d say.
Good Show, Too Much Soy Sauce. I had the Filet mignon, and they put soy sauce on everything including the filet mignon, and that was pretty much all I could taste. $24.50 down the tubes.
I was excited about the dining experience at Benihana for an entire week. Once we arrived we were quickly seated, but it took our server and chef at least 10 minutes to greet us. The food was bland & lacked taste, and although we ordered dinner portions of the hibachi chicken, the portions were lunch sized. I was disappointed with the food, flare, and atmosphere. BTW, the bill was enormous! Never again!!
Any place that decides what food to serve to customers based on where they sit is absurd. I was with a size able birthday party (12 adults) and because we were sat at the flat top cooking area, I was not allowed to order the endless sushi. The waitress sent over a manager who reinerated that it was not available where I was sitting and that I was more than welcome to go sit by myself at the sushi bar if I wanted to have the endless sushi. I told him that it was absurd, seeing as I was with a large party, and that I would just proceed to take my business elsewhere once my party had completed their meals. He then sent the general manager over, who once again suggested that I leave my party to eat the endless sushi. When one of my party called her out quite calmly and collectedly, the GM put on an attitude and smugness that was quite unappreciated. Mind you, the entire time I’m trying to draw as little attention to the situation as I can. Basically this will be the last time myself and several members of my party will be coming to this rediculous, corporate restaurant. Do yourself a favor and support your local restaurants of this ilk. I guarantee you will receive better food and service than you will here. It is readily apparrent that sometime in the last year or so this place has stopped carting about the customer. All I really wanted was what I was served last time I was here, when I was sitting just a few short steps away.
