    Central Ohio friends, avoid Chen’s Kitchen in Westerville. I used to rave about them – good food, quick delivery service. Last time I used them, service was nearly an hour, and I counted it as a fluke. Things happen. I get it. This time, though, waited an hour, no food, called to check on it and was told they had a problem with their credit card machine and hadn’t started making my food because they couldn’t process payment. Again, machines break, and that isn’t their issue. BUT, they didn’t think to call me and tell me or ask for alternate payment or give me a chance to cancel my order and order food from somewhere else instead of only discovering I was never getting my food after I called them an hour after placing my order. While they did apologize, they offered no solution. When I suggested comping the $11 order I had been waiting on for an hour would be good customer service and then said since it wasn’t offered I would go elsewhere, the gentleman on the phone asked me to hold on a minute. He then spoke to someone in the background briefly before the call was disconnected. Trying not to assume they hung up on me (mind you – he asked me to wait), I called back to see if the disconnect was accidental. A woman answered, restated why there was a delay, I restated why they should have called me when it happened, and she replied that the credit card machine wasn’t their fault. I get that machines break. But they seemed to struggle with acknowledging their error was in not telling me at all about the problem until I called them about it an hour later. When I expressed my disappointment in the service and heir unwillingness to make it right by comping the food – again a measly $11 order- and that I planned to share my experience, the girl called me spiteful. Well, so be it. I will not patronize business in the future. The girl on the phone may call it spite, I call it consumer’s choice. Buyer beware!

    Good food, terrible delivery service. The food was decent, but it took them over an hour and a half to get my food to me and I only live 2 miles away! After about an hour of waiting I politely called to see what the hold up was, and the man on the phone was super rude, thankfully the girl who (finally) delivered my food was nice enough though. If they were busy and it was taking them longer that’s fine, I’m patient, but they should have gave me a heads up when I places my order or just been a little nicer and mentioned that they were really busy when I called.
