Best patio in Westerville!. Right in the center of Uptown Westerville, this is the place to be. They almost always have live music, good beer selection, good food, and good service. The gyros are awesome, and the burgers are good too. There’s also special events like Christmas in July, pig roasts, pub crawls, Browns Backers, etc. Love this place!

I’m Trying Really Hard to Forget….. We found ourselves in Westerville on a recent road-trip to the Columbus area and stopped at Jimmy V’s on the recommendation of the staff at another local business. It was just after 1 on a Sunday and the place was really cute–loved the patio seating and water feature on a sunny afternoon. The service was incredibly slow. Slow to provide menus, slow to bring drinks, slow to take orders. We weren’t in a hurry…but after waiting over 20 minutes for a plate of warm pita and a saucer of tzatziki, we should have realized what we were in for. Our waiter was nice enough and apologized several times for our missing food, but a feeble apology wasn’t enough to make up for this service. We counted five waitstaff in evidence and an average of 11 filled tables during our lengthy stay. Waitress frequently passed multiple tables with half-empty water glasses to refill a singe table’s, and then walked all the way back down the same aisle without stopping anywhere else. Incredibly inefficient. Our meal finally arrived, AFTER a six-top table that had been seated well after we were. And trust me, we didn’t order anything complicated. Food was ok–but, you know, like slight-upgrade-from-fast-food good, not wait-45-minutes-for-it food. Everything’s heavily salted, which only made the missing drink situation even more dire! Check took almost as long to appear as the food did, despite frequent requests (and another apology from the waiter).During our visit, a nearby table had an issue with their order. This issue was promptly brought to the attention of the waitress by the customer. The waitress shrugged and moved on. When the bill came, the customer indicated that she did not plan to pay for the part of her order that was unsatisfactory. The waitress insisted she must. When the customer resisted, the waitress went to speak with the manager, but came back alone to say that the manager had insisted the customer pay for the food. This table included an elderly woman and these diners had certainly been treated, just as we were, to a bewildering lack of service & water. Almost 2 hours after arriving, we were finally able to escape from this place, suffering from mild dehydration and sunstroke. Luckily, the Starbucks on the way out of town appeared before us, fuzzily at first, as if a mirage. Seriously. This was the single sour note in a great weekend we spent in the Columbus area, and boy, it was a doozy. We certainly won’t stop in Westerville again. Here in Pittsburgh, you can get a gyro twice the size, half the price, in…I don’t even know….1/25th the amount of time.

Good food, typically very friendly service. Nice craft beer selection. Nice little neighborhood restaurant/bar with wonderful patio. Too bad it is a Cleveland Browns bar. (I joke as we are Steelers fans). Give it a try.

Burgers. You Have, Have, Have to ask for the Macedonian Burger and fries. Giant burger, full of all kinds of taste. Make sure you say hi to Nancy! She’s the best.

Pub grub is pretty standard with a few twists thrown in mostly due to the Greek items. I had sweet corn in batter and then fried. Yum. The gyro platter was fresh, delicious, and the lemon potatoes are innovative and better than fries. I had mine with lemon chicken and rice soup. Very tasty. My only complaint was a little lacking in stronger flavors. The gyro meat needed a season as well as the soup. Still fresh and very hearty fare.
