Love the small, local, one-of-a-kind atmosphere. The sub (regular Italian sandwich) was excellent. VERY excellent. I will happily return when time permits.The drawback was the time it took. Three small orders in front of me, yet it took 24 minutes from ordering to getting my sandwich. Having said that…I love the woman who runs the place. What a delightful lady. The sandwich was fantastic (loved the bread!), and the atmosphere is familiar and friendly. The familiarity of the patronage speaks to The Regular nature of the business, and I have no trouble understanding why.For all of that I would give a 4.5, but the time wait adjusts my score due to the need to be certain that I have a bit of extra time next time I go. Aside from that, however, I intend to return. The sandwich was good!

Although nothing special to look at the food is pretty good. You can get 8 or 16 inch subs and they have a double meet option for only a few bucks exta. The 16 inch sub comes cut into thirds so even though it’s a big sub it’s still manageable portion wise. Subway being right next door doesn’t help this place out at all, but the price is pretty competitive and they use more meat on the subs. The biggest cons are they only have one kind of bread and not the variety of toppings you can get elsewhere. Overall I would recommend giving this place a shot for something different.
So watching the news I see a story about how this shop is having trouble. I used to pass this everyday going to school, had to stop and finally try it. I have to say the food was great. The decor & service not so much. The potato soup was fantastic. Creamy, a little bite of seasoning and I think perhaps a bit of clam. The regular hoagie was pretty good. The bread is what makes the sandwich. Soft, lightly sweet with the smallest crunch. Wow. The decor made me want to run away. It’s mid march. Time to put away the christmas decorations. On top of that, I am sure that Sue is proud of her plants. But they have to go. And your paperwork shouldn’t be spread out on one of the tables. If you go, enjoy the food, it was tasty.
