Service was slow…. The waitress took forever just to come and get our order, and then it took FOREVER for the pizza to actually get to us. Then, it wasn’t even that good. Extremely greasy, not tasty. For the price, it needed to be a lot better of an experience all around.
Huge Turnover. Have not eaten in Matsos recently but when we used to eat there the standing joke was that there was a new wait staff every month. Turnover in personnel is huge. Spaghetti Pizza is not bad but restaurant has a following from College of Wooster.
This was one of the best meals I have had. The grinder is superb and the hospitality was excellent. Mr. Matsos is an excellent host and has great staff. Our meal was a highlight of our college hunting trip to Wooster.
Matsos is a gem!. We’ve lived in Wooster six years and love to dine downtown. Matso’s Greek Restaurant is a gem. The menu includes so many Greek dishes, and if you think all Greek food is gyros, you will see you have been mistaken. Remember that Italy and Greece are very close to one another and have similar crops, so their foods are similar, yet each country puts in it’s own twist. I have friends that have been afraid they wouldn’t like Greek food. If you like Italian, you will like Greek! There are many delicious pasta dishes to choose from, and they do have awesome gyros on top of that! My favorite menu items include the Pastitso, pizza, and the Gyro Salad. Dinners come with yummy hot garlic bread and a Greek salad with their house dressing which is sold all over the country! The owner Spiro Matsos is also a gem. He is one of my favorite people to have the honor of meeting in Wooster. It is awesome to see the pride he has in being a business owner and in the city of Wooster. I hope you get a chance to chat with him on your visit!
Awesome food and I love the main guy there. However the rest of the staff seem almost fearful to talk. He needs to treat them better.
Great Gyros!. We went to Matsos yesterday and I had the best gyro of my life. Most gyros range from somewhat greasy to very greasy. This one wasn’t greasy at all. Lots of love went into it and you can really tell. I can’t wait to go back and try the pizza, too.
