It irks me to see people saying they’ve had a number of good experiences and then had one or two bad ones. You’ll notice they didn’t rush to the internet each time they had a great experience, but feel the need to do so when they have a bad one. I’ve eaten at Apple Barrel countless times. It recently supplanted Shiloh’s as my favorite diner/restaurant in Broken Arrow. I’m a lover of good ol’ American cooking and comfort food and Apple Barrel delivers food that is equal or better than the others of its ilk and at a lower price than any of them. This last Friday I had steak, shrimp, a baked potato, a salad, and a roll for $9.99. How can you beat that?
Review of Apple barrel. I had a good experience there. The food was excellent . The food came quickly. The service was very tasty. I took my mom there for her birthday. We had a nice visit. I have nothing bad to say. I plan on taking my own family there on a Saturday. I went on a Wednesday. I pray it will be just as good or even better. I went to the broken arrow store on Wednesday. I will take my family to bixby. Keep your fingers crossed we will have a good time for our money. Amen
Not Impressed. This was our first visit. We were looking for something different, and maybe a mom and pop type restaurant. Although, it wasn’t horrible, it wasn’t impressive. We had the taco salad, which was pretty good, and the catfish, which was horrible. It was obviously frozen. Definitely not fresh battered, and, not good at all. Only two bites got eaten. The hushpuppies were cold in the middle, which means they were frozen also. I almost tried their chicken fried steak, which I love. Thought, maybe on our next visit. However, knowing that the fish was frozen and premade, I’m skeptical of the chicken fried steak now. We may or may not give this place a second try. Not sure yet. When we go out to a restaurant, we expect fresh made food, not something frozen out of a bag or box. Especially for the main course. We can do that at home a lot cheaper. Oh, and the salsa is Pace…..lol
Home away from home. We eat here more than any other restaurant. We dont like to cook, its close to the house and the food is always good at a very reasonable price. Its good home cooking/Diner food. The staff is always friendly and the portions are always good.

If they feel the desire to fix this (and i hope they do!) then they can email me at [email protected] Aug, 2013I want to start by saying I usually love this place, and will probably give them another shot, but I was refused the opportunity to talk to the manager and I want to vent… First off we had to wait over 45 minutes for our food. When we asked for some sort of compensation, we were offered a coupon from the front of the store for 15% off… We were lied to about why our food took so long, and when we finally got our food, my fries were cold, and my chicken was half the size it usually is. Also my girlfriend only got about 5 or 6 onion rings. Everything (save the temp of my fries) was still delicious, but still a disappointment over all. Most disappointing is that when given an opportunity to fix this, they refused!
This food is good jalapeo poppers are good. T bone steak is amazing when I got it medium well. And chicken fried chicken is the best and biggest
It was horrible. It took FOREVER to get our food, service was VERY slow, and when I finally got my food there was mold on it. Will never eat there again.
