Ate here late on Labor Day Monday. For starters they were open late even.Excellent Cajun cusine. Ordered the Bayou Burger, Chicken & Sausage Gumbo, the Orleans Pasta, and Garlic Bread.Usually I begin with the food. This time les’s begin with our server – Lil’Bobby. A fantastic staff member. He really knows his trade, and has encyclopedic knowledge of the menu and all of the possible alterations. He went out of his way to enquire of our tastes/preferences and then made suggestions for tailoring our order. We were very happy with the result. The Chicken and Sausage Gumbo was excellent. It came with a side of white rice. The white rice adds just the right something to bring out the tastes of the gumbo a spoonful at a time. The Garlic Bread was nice and tasty. Kind of nice with the gumbo too.The Orleans Pasta was neat. Ours was kind of angle hair pasta with blackened chicken and sausage in a fairly spicy Creole sauce. The spice was wonderful – just enough bite to stay interesting. The garlic bread was a nice addition. The Bayou Burger was two jucy burger patties along with mushrooms, grilled onions, and cheese. A really excellent burger.

I’m a Cajun transplant who has lived in Oklahoma for a long time. Whenever I hear of a new Cajun restaurant opening up in my area, I like to go in and test out the authenticity of the food by sampling the gumbo, boudin and jambalaya. Today’s visit was the first time that everything I sampled on the menu truly tasted authentic. This is an excellent restaurant. Be sure to give it a try if you want really good Cajun food! There are a couple of other restaurants in the Oklahoma City area that do Cajun food really well but I’d have to say Brent’s does it much better. Well done!
