Had lunch with some friends and the food was great. Everyone loved the fish tacos. Their seasoned vegetables are tasty. Awesome service. They should advertise their lunch portions on their menu. Will go back to try different menu items.
What a disappointment. Gumbo had one shrimp and flecks of sausage and chicken. Grilled swordfish was poached, then scared by the grill to create the faintest of marks. No seasoning. I eat very little salt and rarely need to salt anything…not today. Garlic wilted spinach was good. Tender, hot, bright green and not overdone, with enough garlic slivers to taste but not dominate. But grilled veggies? Steamed, bland, not overdone, but no personality or imagination. Russell at bar was nice and did card an underage kid. Good call, Russ. But the food?? Bad call. Boring.
Saturday Lunch. Went there for lunch a few Saturdays ago. Had the swordfish, wife had the trout. Both very good. The manager really turned things around a couple of years ago. We’ll continue to be regulars.
Oyster Nachos. This needs to be renamed the Oyster Taco Salad….lettuce, pico, 7 tortilla chips, 7 oyster nuggets, and a little remoulade. It’s good, but it’s NOT nachos by any stretch.
Went there this evening. Ordered 6 blue point oysters, fried pickles, and a crab and shrimp boil for two. The boil did not have any seasoning and cost $10 more than where we usually eat, and was same portion as for one person there. I don’t think the shrimp was cooked thoroughly because it was a little mushy. The oysters were the only good thing we had. Also their plates left a mildew smell on our hands that we can’t get rid of.
Fried Dill Pickles. The fried dill pickles are mouth watering good. .
Too much pepper. Clam chowder has lots of substance but also waaayyy too much black pepper!!! Otherwise love the food especially the coleslaw.
