Absolutely do not write this off just because it is a hot food line at a grocery store without trying it first. Seriously some of the best food I have ever had. The Mac and cheese was amazing and I got some holiday stuffing to compare to homemade…uptown won. Everything is good.
Lunch time at Uptown. My coworkers and I often have their hot lunch. I usually go and pick it up and bring it back to office. It is always good. We love the salmon and all of the vegetable choices. They give you nice size portions and it is a healthy option for lunch. Definitely worth the price!
Watermelon Tea. Watermelon Tea?! in Suburb Edmond Oklahoma?!!!!??? When I saw this flavor I thought someone was playing tricks on me or maybe my eyesight. lol . This kind of flavor ( watermelon) is usally found in the urban areas of the city. It was a perfect combination of brewed tea. Not to mention there was a woman sitting across from me eating sliced watermelon for only $1.12 a pack. After drinking my tea I was craving watermelon slices. Apparently she had purchased the last pack, so I opted for Honeydew melon. Ha and they say black people are the only ones who like watermelon :)09 May, 2013Lunch @ Uptown. So I looked up a place new to eat for lunch in Edmond Oklahoma and found Uptown. The hot lunch line looked standard to any other Grocery Grille, boy was that an understatement. The food was really good, hence the name Gourmet Grille. But you know how that can be clich (Gourmet) There was a pretty good crowd awaiting to eat. You had to just jump in the line and order or the next person behind you would. I chose to get the beef tips and rice. They were really generous on the helping. Only 3 of my beef tips were fatty, overall the meet was tender and savory in the mushroom gravy. The corn nibbles were buttery and slightly sweet, the Mac n cheese was really cheesy and the noodles were cooked just right. You all know some places can nook the heck out of pasta noodles which can potentially destroy a simple side. One entree plus two sides and a roll cost about $6.49.
Great Catering & Dips. If you need catering – Gourmet Grille never fails. Their dips are awesome, we always get the red pepper asiago cheese dip, the spicy crab meat dip, spinach and artichoke dip, and the jalapeno dip. Every time we have hosted an event and had these dips, people consistently rave about them and ask where we got them. They also have great chicken salad and asian chicken salad. They can work with you on what you need and when you need it – they put together 8 trays in 24 hours for us once when we were caught off guard about co-hosting an open house for a client!
Great!. I’m so excited to be the first person to review this place! My wife and I really enjoy eating here on a regular basis. It’s a very comfortable atmosphere and everything we’ve tried has been great. The food’s obviously not Charleston’s quality, but it’s not far off from what Whole Foods serves. My 4 year old LOVES the mac and cheese, and I like the meatloaf. I’ve tried the soups and have enjoyed each of those as well. A couple of tips that I’d like to share that have made my experience better: 1) don’t feel bashful about asking for a sample, 2) the best deal is to not order items a la carte, but instead order the meal special. For $5.99 you get a main course, two sides and a roll. The portions are generous and it allows you to sample a few different things. Enjoy!
