Stress Relief in a Cup Cake. Crimson and Whipped Cream Coffee Shop and BakeryBy Cara LivingstonWhen you walk in the door you are greeted by sofas and tables with chairs and people working on their laptops or chatting with friends, and even listening to music on their iPods. The bar is on the right hand of the store and it wraps around a clean coffee area. The cabinets above where the dishes are stored are covered with sliding chalk boards where the menu is neatly written in colored chalk uniquely decorative and functional. They serve you only with real plates and glasses giving customers the feeling of being welcomed into a home of a friend it is casual and peaceful yet fun. There is a glass window on the back wall which allows customers to watch as the magic of pastries being created unfolds. The kitchen area is clean and all the equipment shines with newness. On the left side of the place across from the bar is a huge mirror almost the length of the dining area. This gives the allusion of the small area being much bigger and customers do not feel boxed in to a small space. There is a bookshelf in the back where Crimson and Whipped Cream products are displayed for sale, but on the bottom shelf are stacks of old familiar board games so the college kids from the University of Oklahoma can enjoy an evening at the coffee shop. The restrooms are clean with sliding doors for handicap accessible patrons and sinks which are flat and funky and a classic addition to a restroom. There are also photo booths in the back, so kids can have their pictures taken with friends while enjoying a fun evening having coffee with friends. The atmosphere of Crimson and Whipped Cream is accentuated by soft alternative jazzy music playing low in the back ground. The service is flawless with customer friendly people behind the counter willing to help make your coffee experience the best possible. The pastries are to die for…seriously…we had the chocolate whoopee pie and the red velvet cupcake with whipped cream frosting. Both were divine. In fact, my daughter bought a cup cake to go. The blackberry ice tea was fresh and delicious served in a mason jar which matched the light fixtures hanging above the tables. The most interesting part of the experience is while you sit and enjoy your pastries and tea or coffee, everyone in the place seems to be there alone. What I mean is even though the caf is full, everyone feels special like this spot is just for them. They are allowed to be in their own little world and yet meld into a group setting surrounded by peace and relaxation. I sincerely recommend visiting Crimson and Whipped Cream before a game, a nice fall evening, after a game, lunchtime break or just a mental health escape for a stress free escape.

GREAT SNACK. This is a near campus quite study place to enjoy cupcakes, coffee, cookies and other pastries. The butter cookies were 3 for a $1 and very good in flavor. I also had a banana cream pecan cupcake that was really tasty. I think it was little small for $2.50 for the cupcakes. And I had a chocolate pecan cookie that was a little dry. But I still like the place.

Went here for a date with my fianc. Fun, quaint atmosphere, really friendly staff. We got passion tea which was really good and came in a fun mason jar. Also got the chocolate peanut butter cupcake which turned out dry and the frosting was…not what I expected. The German chocolate cupcake we got was really delicious. Overall, fun place to try out. Next time we’ll make sure to ask for their most popular cupcake instead.

Great Service & Amazing Coffee. I love this place – The German Chocolate cupcakes are so delicious! The baristas there pull the best espresso shots and I highly recommend the cappuccino. Above all, the staff is very friendly and the environment is like no other.

Favorite Norman hangout!. I absolutely love Crimson & Whipped Cream! The drinks and the baked treats are so delicious, but it’s the atmosphere that makes it the ultimate place to study at or go to with friends. I’ve had nothing but positive experiences here!

Love it here. Everything is baked with the best ingredients daily! Chef Ashleigh always goes for local, organic & fair trade. Best part is the Elemental coffee brewed to order!! Go local or go home!
