Amazing! The gyros and hummus are the best around. Really the only downside is that they're cash only, otherwise I'd be there all the time.…

One of, if not the best gyros places around. The meat quality can be inconsistent at times since the original owners sold the business. Perhaps they have tried different distributors. Prices have also sharply increased since the transfer of ownership. It’s expensive but the portions are big. The Child’s Plate is plenty for an adult. Once upon a time I ate there weekly but has changed to a few times a year.
I stopped in here for lunch on a Friday in November. A friend of mine who is an OU alumnus has always raved about this place, but, despite my being in Norman on numerous occasions to visit my in-law, I’ve just never gotten around to trying it. So, I finally did.Gyros was good. Huge portions and thus a great value. That’s the one thing I’ve heard about this place over and over is the huge gyros they serve. I think the Tzatziki could be better, but outside of that I enjoyed my food very much. French fry portion is huge. Two people could easily share a small order of fries.Service was friendly. Clientle was friendly. It’s what you expect from most gyros shops when it comes to atmosphere and dcor. Too many tables crammed into too small of a space. A kitchen that makes use of the space it can, but doesn’t appear particularly practical, and so forth. This isn’t some upscale Mediterranean restaurant. It’s a typical dive gyros place. The heat coming off of the vertical broilers at the front counter was astonishing. It’s rather nice on a cold wet November day, but it has to make this place rather uncomfortable on a hot August afternoon. If you like gyros then bookmark this place for your next visit to Norman.
My boyfriend and his family literally loves this place. There is a must-stop at Greek House while I’m down in Norman. The options aren’t broad, but the lamb is delicious. The goat-cheese is fantastic too (we usually order a cup of them also). The drinks are self-served and the service is nice. It is a family owned business.WARNING: The Children Plate is enormous, so that is what I usually get because of the portion control there and I can actually finish it.It is always packed when I come, but the food always comes out fast. Great food, probably the best Greek House I’ve ever been to.
The Only Place in the U.S. Where We EVER Eat Gyros. We first discovered Gyros at the Greek House years ago, and have since tried it elsewhere a time or two. We have never found any other restaurants whose version is as good. This is particularly true of their Tzatziki sauce. We were happy for the original owners, Angelo and Helen Dimas when they retired and turned the place over to their son Bill, but were concerned that it would not be the same. To our delight however, the family’s secret recipe Tzatziki has remained unchanged, as has the family atmosphere of the place. The original sandwich and the adult and child’s plates have also remained the same, with a gradual addition or alternative dishes to their menu.We even like to pick up Tzatziki sauce to go to enjoy with other dishes at home – most notably salmon filets!
Best bang for your buck!. I have loved the Greek House for over 30 years! The prices have gone up as of late, but it is still a great place to eat. You get so much food for the money and the tzatziki sauce is delicious! I always get extra sauce, which I have to pay for and an extra piece of pita. You get so much meat on the gyros you need an extra pita and you end up with an extra sandwich. The fries are out of this world and you get a ton! I think you will really like the Greek House. It’s very small and usually crowded, but it’s worth it!
Great lunch !. Small, old, nothing fancy, but quick and delicious, grea gyro, hummus and some of the best fries I’ve had in awhile.I’ll definetly go back when in Norman.
Change is noticeable. Been eating here for years and have recently been trying to ignore the fact that its not the same since the new owner took over. Granted they are trying to maintain the good name as other have mentioned but things that disappoint now are..Price..i know, i know, prices go up but this place has been a constant good value at $6-$7 per plate but now its around $20 for (2) plates with no drinks. Portions..smaller meat portions now and more fries. Quality..the meat dont taste as crisp and biting as it once was as well as the pita was extra doughy last time.
