Ordered food to go last night. I had purchased a Groupon and wanted to use it before it expired. I drove all the way from Chickasha just to try the food. When I walked in, no one greeted me. I had to find someone to ask where to pick up the food. The girl at the bar was very helpful and efficient. She was very busy, though, and it took quite a while to get my food paid for. Everything on the receipt was exactly what I had ordered. However, I discovered on my way back home that 1) My cheeseburger I ordered had no cheese on it 2) The buffalo wings I ordered had bbq sauce on them (ew) and 3) they didn’t give me the drink I had ordered. Given the difficulty I had finding a place to park even remotely close to the restaurant, I wasn’t about to go back and wait to get my order fixed. I was extremely disappointed in this place and will probably not being going back.
Used to like O’Connell’s but…. On a recent visit to O’Connell’s we left with a bad taste in our mouth. It wasn’t from the food though. It was delicious and came out very fast. We went on a Wednesday which is their $4 burger night. Wife and I ordered a burger and a coke each, and our two kids ordered the kids meal and a drink each. We never expected the kids food to cost more than ours! We were shocked and very unhappy when the bill came. Drinks were $1.85 which is expected for an adult soda. Kids meal was $4.95 and we knew their food was more than our burgers but expected that to include a drink too. They weren’t included so that was an unexpected charge. I had to ask for a refill for my drink, my wife never even got hers. Then when I asked for a to go cup I was told they didn’t have any. I’ve gotten to go cups before at O,Connell’s, I have a cabinet full of their plastic cups!I should have asked for a manager but we were already pretty upset about the kids drinks and no to go cups plus the kids were getting restless. We just left instead of complaining.We only went because we had a gift certificate, which we couldn’t use on the burger deal. No problem really but we expected our meal to cost us nothing aside from a tip. We spent over $30 instead. Not happy, and we still have to go back to use the certificate 🙁
The fried pickles and the frank were delicious. I ordered fish and chips and it was ok. Fish really greasy and fries weren’t done. However burgers looked excellent. Will order that next time. Friendly, efficient service.
Love this place!. I went to O’Connell’s for Karaoke Night on Wednesday, and I loved it. It was a great atmosphere along with low prices. I definitely will be back to O’Connell’s.
Still O’Connels. As i have been a resident of norman since 1986 and frequented the original location on Lindsey. No it isn’t the same on campus corner but hey what in life stays the same? Anyways 3 of us went in on a friday night ordered the onion rings which used to come on a stick and were great back then, These were okay but not great like they used to be (undercooked). The service was great my friends enjoyed their sandwiches a mixed crowd filled the place, we used a groupon coupon and everything was good. Normal prices for campus corner some places are less expensive but some are more so about average. Good crowd of young and old when we left so the tradition continues!
Good times on Campus Corner. I really enjoy coming to O’Connell’s on Campus Corner. It has a relaxed, fun atmosphere, good food, and great drink specials. Plus their events are fun–karaoke and trivia nights are awesome and their random events like Mardi Gras are a good time. Plus it’s easy to get a good view of the TV for game days. One of my go-to spots.
