My absolute favorite place in Norman. And now they have their own parking lot! It’s perfect to go on a date, family dinner, or with friends.Date night – sit in the bar and enjoy the wonderful piano playing from Joel! You will usually even see people get up and dance! Family dinner – they have an great table in the back room that seats 10! It is perfect for our family. Every one can see each other and talk to each other without yelling across a big table!Friends – They have so many fun events. Comedy, Trivia, Jazz night… I am surprised they haven’t given me a cot in the back yet… I spend more time here then at my own house!
Dined at Othello’s this past weekend after the OU/West Virginia Basketball Game. I was a little skeptical after the reviews I read online, but I can assure you this meal was one of the best I have had in Norman in a long time!We had a nice cozy booth on the restaurant side where we were greeted by a wonderful young man named Sam. He told us about the evening specials which all sounded to die for! We opted to start with stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer, because the table next to us got them and they smelt delicious!!! Which they were… YUM!!!My husband got the steak, Filet I think. I am not sure why they are not a steakhouse, because this steak was better then any steak we have gotten at Outback! And I got the Shrimp Portofino special. I asked why this wasn’t on the menu… Because it was SO good! Sam assured me that although it wasn’t on the menu I can ask for it anytime! It was wonderful news to my ears!And of course we finished up with some of the homemade Coconut Cream Pie that everyone seems to be talking about these days!All in all, a great evening! I only wish we would have stopped by the bar to hear that piano player! Guess we will save that for next time!Please do yourselves a favor… Stop in and try the food on your own! You won’t be sorry!
I had it delivered and it was not appetizing. Awful. I threw it away. The meat sauce almost tasted like it had turned. The tomato sauce was decent but I wasn’t overly impressed. I won’t order again.
I can only review the food since I had it delivered by OrderUp. I appreciate that service, but I won’t be ordering here again. They got me to order by offering 1/2 price Create Your Own pastas. I ordered the penne with tomato sauce and chicken, and rigatoni with meat sauce with a meatball. It was awful. I love Italian food, but I could get better out of a jar. The chicken was bland and rubber and both pastas were overcooked. The meat sauce and meatball weren’t ever edible. I threw the majority of it all away and I RARELY do that…I appreciate having food and not wasting it. But this stuff was bad. I won’t be trying it again.
Once again…Great Food! Great Service!. Had a wonderful meal this past weekend at Othello’s! We walked around Campus Corner for a little bit, then stopped by Othello’s to hear Joel playing on the piano. Started with drinks at the bar, and like always the drinks were spot on! Also loved the little pasta chips they gave us to snack on!Had dinner in a nice booth on the restaurant side. I enjoyed the Angel’s Balsamic (LOVE Balsamic!) and my date had a HUGE steak! He ate every last bit of it, and then sopped up whatever was left on the plate with his bread.And if you have never heard of a Drunken Cookie… You are seriously missing out! Do yourself a favor and try Othello’s!
Othello’s new owner. It used to be good and amazing crispy food that I remember…. but they didn’t offer and then the food isn’t what we expect… I remember, they cook right from what they made but its look like they bought from the frozen and reheat those foods.
Horrible food. I had out of town company and chose Othello’s because of the location. Excellent waitress. We ordered an appetizer, four entree’s and one dessert. Our bill was $143 and the food was horrible. Could have done better with a fast food chain.
