The buffet has a wide variety and is always very delicious. The menu also has a wide selection and I have never had anything I didn’t like when ordering from it. The owners are very nice people and put a lot of pride into their food.
Oh how I love to rave about this place. Took a while for me to find my stride with respect to Indian cuisine, but I cannot say enough about Taste of India’s Saag Paneer (especially paired with Garlic Naan). Plus, the staff are beyond friendly. Best Indian restaurant in the metro, hands down. Edit: ORDER OFF THE MENU. I have similar qualms about their buffet that the other reviewers have.
People always talk about Misal’s but Taste of India is right up there with the best, most authentic Indian food we’ve ever had. The owner is so friendly and attentive. Cannot recommend this place enough!
For Spicy Food Lovers. This place makes an amazing spicy chicken vindaloo (spicy upon request). I ate a lot of indian food when I was living in France, but this place is my number one. If you are like me and like spicy indian food, you will really appreciate this place. This place is great. They understand spicy!
Curry +, selection -. Service was hit and miss–selection on the buffet is very limited and the ‘spicy’ labels (as I’ve had at other Indian places) is not made clear.
Lunch buffet.. I’ve been to the lunch buffet and it was overall a good experience. The buffet is kind of small, but the restaurant is small, so it makes sense to me. We sampled a little of everything, but I will always fall back on naan, rice pudding, and chicken curry as my main dishes. I’m not super into Indian food, but every now and then I get a craving, and Taste of India fills the void. OH, I was excited that everything wasn’t loaded down with cilantro, unlike the last Indian place I stopped at in Washington state. I’m not too keen on cilantro, and there was a little, but it wasn’t overwhelming. That was a big plus sign for me, honestly.
Holy WOW! Well, this is one of a very few places that will cater to spicy food lovers. I ordered the chicken tikka masala, which I normally expect to be sub-par if not made at home, and it was great! I asked the owner to make it extra hot for me, and holy moly is it! Little happy beads of sweat are a sign of a great spicy masala, and this place can deliver. Definitely doing it again. Make sure to get one of their many flatbread varieties, and a side of fresh cilantro to brighten up the rich spicy dish. Love it!
