Pricey, but fun for special occasion. Nice place for long, leisurely dinner. Four of us ate there recently: ordered two kinds of cheese fondues, assorted entrees, and a white and dark chocolate for dessert dipping. One martini, red zinfidel carafe, sangria, and one bottle red zin plus the food and tip came to about $230, so it is NOT a cheap dinner. Entrees were two land and sea (shrimp and filet mignon), one steak lovers (assorted beefsteak cuts) and a combination plate (Classic). We had fun cooking and eating and our waitress, Ashley, was very helpful and friendly.
Special occasion restaurant. I can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed dinner at The Melting Pot. My husband and I came to Tulsa to run a Quarter Marathon, his longest distance, and wanted to celebrate. We made reservations for 6:15, a table for 4. You MUST make reservations! A couple came in without reservations- earliest opportunity to get seated was 9:45. Having two couples doubled our cooktops, which means more choices for the cheese and chocolate courses. We did the 4 course experience and two of us ordered the wine flight. For the cheese course, we chose the traditional Alpine (too nutmeg-ish for me) and spinach artichoke. The latter was incredible! Salad course was crisp, cool, delicious. We had French Quarter, Land and Sea, a Filet Mignon, Seafood trio as our entrees. Our cooking styles were court bouillon and Coq Au Vin. In hind sight, we would have chosen the Bourguignonne instead of the Court Bouillon. I couldn’t finish my entree but the chocolate course- oh my! My husband, who rarely has strong opinions about dessert, demanded the Flaming Turtle. Can I say this one more time- oh my! Caramel, milk chocolate and candied pecans, flamb at the table. The choice of dippers was perfect; fruit, Rice Krispie treats, brownies, marshmallows. I think I ate my weight in the chocolate course alone. The other couple chose Yin Yang. The wine flight was just enough, by the way.The food was wonderful but our server made the night for us. She was very personable, helpful and attentive. Kudos to Abbey! You were the perfect topper to a lovely experience!
We ate here for Mother’s Day and were greatly impressed. The food was wonderful and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Our waitress was Shawna and when we return we will request her. She gave great service and made our experience even better.
Only thing to say is awful service.
Delicious!. This was our first time at the Melting Pot and absolutely loved it. We made a reservation for 9 and was sat immediately. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. We were there roughly 2 hours having 4 courses and it was a nice, relaxing birthday dinner.
A Drastic Improvement. Dined at The Melting Pot last night and was quite impressed with what I perceived as an improvement over the last visit!Service was really good as well! A great anniversary dinner….Found out that every six months there are course changes which in our case included the cheese, salad and chocolate course….(1st, 2nd and 4th) so hurry to catch this one if you love brie or gruyere cheese with bacon, almonds & strawberries in a spring mix salad and finally white chocolate crme brulee’ for dessert!
Fun Concept, Bad Food. I’m conflicted about The Melting Pot. While we had a great time and it was a fun experience, the food wasn’t very good. There was a group of 4 of us and we had reservations. When we arrived our table wasn’t quite ready and we had to wait at the bar for just a few minutes. After about 15 minutes we were seated and the waitress came and explained the concept. The first round was an appetizer of various cheeses melted right at your table, then you get to dip your veggies, fruit, and chips in. You get the choice of several different cheese combos. We enjoyed the appetizer. Then the salad came. The main course was choices between seafood, beef, chicken, veggies, and combos of each. They bring your food to you raw and you boil it on your table in the pot. Last was the dessert which was chocolate fondue that you dip different sweets and fruits into. The main courses were not very good. You’re basically boiling a steak (if you get steak) and it tastes just like it sounds… boiled steak. The chicken was also bland and flavorless, however they did have several different sauces you could dip your food into to help flavor it. The seafood was pretty good. The service was absolutely great. Our waitress was excellent and is probably the best waitress I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Don’t go if you’re in a hurry. We were there just over 3 hours, its a very slow meal.At the end of the night we had had 2 drinks each and the bill for two adults was $133. It was a fun and unique experience, but I won’t go back. I just didn’t think the food was very good.
