I first heard about Sips while at another coffeeshop in town. The coffee (southern pecan) was good, but the barista always left too much room in the coffee. Speaking of which, he was never friendly and always frowned. I don’t know why some people on here thought otherwise..probably the friendly atmosphere of the store. I once came in the store with another cup of coffee (common courtesy, I wasn’t thinking about it at the time) and was about to buy a drink of his when he kicked me out of the store. Horrible customer service, especially to a regular customer. I came back and apologized and tried to explain it from my point of view but he wouldn’t have it. The barista to put it bluntly is a total jerk-faced asshole and doesn’t deserve for anyone to stop by. Do not go here, unless you want a less-than-average cup of coffee and very unfriendly and potentially rude customer service!!!
Sip Coffee Bar. I’m not a huge Starbucks fan, although I do believe they provide a consistently good cup of coffee. Not this place…coffee is average at best, and the owners, while they can be nice (while taking your money), can also be very nasty and down right rude to people. Don’t walk to the nearest Starbucks, RUN!
Great Cozy Coffee Shop. I’ve been going to Sips for quite a while now and I have never been let down. The baristas are so kind and the prices are wonderful. The atmosphere is so cozy and not intimidating at all. If you ask the barista to surprise you, he will give you a delicious drink! For those who are complaining about their age, that is just downright disrespectful because they are wonderful people. The coffee has always been excellent and I will be back for more.
Good Little Place. Cute place, good location, and the people were very nice. The latte was good too! I’ll go back. Definitely want to support the locals instead of big chain companies. Best of luck to them!
Keep your frown, I’ll keep my money!. When I discovered Sip I thought this is great! But then I became weary of the frowns of the owners. Now there’s an excellent formula for success. Frown at the people who are handing you money. Be rude to them. Be ice cold. Never be friendly. Then you will have great success – in loosing customers! If you want to frown at someone, go look in the mirror!
I want this place to last. Small businesses on Jenks Main Street come and go, it seems, and I want this place to do well. I read the local news article about the owners and have been there a few times. The coffee I ordered was good (President’s Blend), but they’re not putting enough coffee in the cups. A 12 oz cup should contain at least 10 oz of coffee and a 14 oz cup – 12 oz. Both coffees I have bought were not filled up enough.
Great location, very sweet owners, good intentions…horrific espresso/coffee. I believe their sweeter drinks-i.e. their frozen mocha may be more what they promote or do well but if you’re looking for any other type of real coffee; be wary…my wife (a former barista) and I both threw our drinks away as they were simply undrinkable. espresso went bad/burnt (only takes about 30 seconds if you don’t know what you’re doing-they also make their iced lattes etc from old/cold pot coffee). owners just need to take a few more classes on coffee or hire a professional barista to take care of the drinks and they would do great. I believe in small businesses and want to like this place but don’t know if I will ever be back…I would also suggest better hours – like in the evenings for the students to study etc or at least till 5:30/6pm for the commuters after work, also perhaps a little earlier in the morn for the commuters going to work-just a few suggestions as I really do wish these folks well and success in the future…
