1st time here but not the last. Ok…#1, I am a Georgia, North Carolina, Florida boy and I know the BBQ I was raised on. Went to the Elgin store this past Tuesday with clients and ordered the Heisman. That MF sandwich was off the chart. I was adding the spicy sauce and it made my socks go up and down. Everybody enjoyed their lunches. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Tables were cleared before you could get up and take the ruins to the receptacle yourself. All the staff was smiling. All of our party was quiet with their mouths full and still smiling. I have a project to build in the immediate area and can forsee this stop as a frequent place to gnosh on pulled pork, and ribs. No qualms.Got home tonight and put on 6 lbs in 4 days between Billy Sims in Elgin and Dowds Catfish in Lebanon MO.Can’t wait to be back in 10 days when the project starts. They will know me by name by day 3. It’s not Sonny’s. Its not Arthur Bryants…it is Billy Sims and it rocks.

I eat BBQ out often. I found Billy Sims food to be pretty good and the prices reasonable. Their menu items are listed in football terminology that I found clever.I got the Option Dinner which is a choice of 3 meats; 2 sides; Texas toast; pickles and onions. It was a lot of food for only $12.99. And I have a big appetite. However there are many lower priced menu items. They also have a huge selection of children menu items. I had brisket; ribs; and hot links. All meats were tender and flavorful. The hot link was different than any I had before. It was more like a mild brat sprinkled with chunks of jalapeos and a white cheese. Pretty tasty. I’d like to get some for home. Since I’m trying to stay low carb I didn’t try the toast and the sides I chose were green beans and corn on the cob. Both were okay but not exceptional. My wife’s choices were more traditional: potato salad and slaw. She really liked them both. The staff could not be more friendly and the place was very clean. The only down side is there’s no beer to wash it down with. But my wife says their sweet tea is very good. I highly recommend Billy Sims for an enjoyable dining experience.

NOT GOOD AT ALL. Way to pricey on alt of things .would not go there if you paid me again, the dogs would not eat the leftover if that is something to say….

Not worth your time. I have ate at both stores 5 times within the last month, the only thing I liked was the sauce.meat was dry, servings small for the price. The help at the cache rd. Store were nice, anyway they are unless the manager is there then it,s like they are afraid to talk or interact with customers ,willnot be back unless major changes happen.

Off its game. When Billy Sim’s first opened, and for a good while afterwards, it was the best in town. The workers were super friendly, and the meat was always juicy and hot. However, as of late Billy Sim’s has been off it’s game which makes this BBQ lover want to cry. The last several times I’ve been there, the meat has been dry, tasteless, and tough. It’s almost as if the brisket is from the evening before. Prices are okay, sides are okay but not what I’d call fantastic or varied by any means.

Overpriced and average BBQ if your someone used to good BBQ. Be prepared to pay for Billy Sims retirement fund instead of generous portions.
