Not a connoisseur of Mexican food, but this place just completely misses the mark. Asked for a beef burrito with a side of beans, which has never been mistaken at any of my 300+ Mexican restaurant visits in my life, but I guess LosTres assumes shredded beef and pinto beans instead of the normal ground beef and refried beans. The cheese sauce (I think) we were given as we were seated was tasteless and awful. Definitely not returning to this establishment.
Food is ok. Their menu is extensive with oodles of familiar Mexican entres and combinations. Unfortunatly, few of them rise above adequate but none are particularly exceptional. Not a 5-star restaurant. Nonetheless they reliably produce some pretty darned good food – and they are open until 2200.They do have a great tasting set of salsas that come with the tortilla chip setup included in the meal. The sauces are Cheese, a cold salsa rich in garlic, and a warmed sauce with a bit of bay leaf.Service is pretty good and they always seem to bring you what you ordered.
It was ok, but when your from South Texas, MEXICAN food is hard to match. All in all, it was alright but we probably won’t go back again. Sad truth, just hard to match quality.
