Food is good but a bit limited – Schnitzels and Sausages for the most part. They have a bunch of varieties and sauces but in the end they are pretty much chicken fried pork or fried sausages. The sides are interesting. We had the spaetzle and the home fries. Both were great. Kind of wish they offered the bacon & cheese spaetzle for an upcharge.Had the goulash soup. Kind of a thickened opaque broth with meat pieces and spices. Really tasty. Don’t be expecting pasta and stuff in it since there will not be any (grin).Deserts looked wonderful but we were stuffed. Probably need to come in just for desert! They have an interesting payment system. Payment by either credit or debit card incurs an addition to the bill of $1.00 as a ‘convenience charge’.
Called at 8:35 to see if they would let us fine in. We arrived at 8:50 and they were very gracious and attentive in service. The food was awesome. There were 5 adults and an active 5 year old. We had a wonderful night and great food!!
Great little dive, a little off the beaten path. Good hardy German food, with a great German beer selection. Oh and save room for dessert!
Good German Food. Love the Schnitzel and potato salad. But the best are the German cakes. Authentic, none of this disgustingly sweet garbage they call cake in the U.S. Not quite like in Germany since all Schnitzel varieties are breaded. In Germany Rahmschnitzel, Zigeuner Schnitzel, etc. are not breaded.
Really good, authentic German food. Scary part of town.
Apricot Streudel. Served warm with delicious icecream on the side. A huge portion.02 Oct, 2014Sauerkraut balls. A great crunch but soft and moist on the inside. A must!!02 Oct, 2014Jaeger schnitzel with spaetzle. Awesome dish. Tender and flavorful! Will definitely be back to try new dishes!
Prost!. Of all places to find a German restauraunt, Lawton, OK has a great one.Loved the food, I’ve searched in and out of Denver, CO for a place like this and couldn’t quite find one I liked.Good southern style German schnitzel and pretty tasty spaetzle. Not tons of imports available but the right ones (hefe, dunkel, pilsner, ect…) as far as beer goes.I liked the decour, it is very reminiscent of a good old German festival setting (packed tables where everyone sits together). Would totallu go again if I ever was forced to go to Lawton, OK because I never plan on visiting the city again lol, sorry mein Mutti und dankeschoen!
