Went there for lunch with coworkers. This really is a place for take out, not dine-in. The seats were in bad shape. The tables weren’t that clean, not disgusting, but not clean either. And there aren’t very many seats in general. The redeeming quality is the food. We all got catfish, with different side. Everyone liked the catfish a lot. And with the sauce they put with it, YUM. The sides were pretty tasty as well (not as good as the catfish). The bread pudding was a throw away item, bland. I would definitely go there again for takeout.
I’ve been missing Louisiana style pivots for a long time. I ordered the roast beef Poboy. They nailed it. The bread is authentic Louisiana Poboy bread and the flavor was everything I remember. Great food.
My family was born and raised in the bayou and this place has the feel of one of the small restaurants on St. Charles in New Orleans. I’m a repeat customer and I will continue to be! Tasty catfish and sides that are just as good(red beans and rice are my favorite)! Anyone who likes Cajun and soul food should stop by! Also the po-boy has excellent French bread that is spot on! Keep it up!
We arrived and were the only customers. We ordered and paid $50+. Many other people arrived after us of which several appeared to know the staff. We watched nearly every one after us get their food and eat and leave before us. The drinks are bottle or can and just cool and were gone in the 40minutes it took us to get our food. We ordered three dinners and one had wrong meat and wrong side. We had previously enjoyed this little hole in a wall and We had planned to buy a gift certificate for my parents. Mac an cheese was no good the noodles were mushy and jambalaya was very dried out rice. The catfish was good but will not be going back or buying a certificate for anyone else to try. Staff was aware of our situation and didn’t seem to be an issue. Very disappointed.
We stopped for dinner at 8:10. We didn’t get our food until 8:50. Several people came in after us, ate and had left before we got our food. One of the three orders was not the right. A big waste of time.
The food was perfectly seasoned. It had a great heat to it. The restaurant is clean and the staff very friendly. We had frog legs, gumbo, and red beans. Everything was wonderful. This is my new favorite restaurant!!
We ordered ToGo from here last night, and I’ve now found a place to get catfish. I love the blend of spices that are seasoning these thin strips of flaky fish. We both ordered the 1lb catfish with their two sides each, and then a small order of mac & cheese. Then both meals came with FREE bread pudding. I really liked the red beans & rice, and the collard greans. We weren’t fans of the candied yams (were really dark/black and was in a soup of oil), au gratin potatoes or the mac & cheese (just wasn’t a fan of the flavor of the cheese used). No complaint really, just a taste preference. The portions were large, and the extra side ordered was very large, but for it being a small for $3.99 it should be. We’ll definitely order from here again.
