Have eaten here a number of times.Food is kind of variable. Usually it is good but sometimes the noodle dishes are on the edge of almost gummy. Most of their dishes are noodle dishes.What is consistently tasty is the Hot & Sour Soup. With deep flavors and a bunch of ground protein (chicken I suspect) it is one of the best things on their menu.
Went in at 3:30pm on a Saturday, a period that’s not normally that busy. After I ordered and sat down, I saw, judging by the numbers on everyone’s table, that practically everyone in the place was waiting on food. My sushi showed up a few minutes later. The rice was dry. The contents were tepid and rubbery. It tasted as if it had been made _hours_ before and left sitting somewhere. Twenty minutes later, the entree showed up. The server apologized for the wait. The chicken was hot, but the quinoa was cold, suggesting that someone plated the quinoa long before the chicken was ready. It’s about details and execution, people. All of the elements in the dish should hit the plate at approximately the same time, in order that the dish looks and tastes like it’s supposed to. As I sat eating my lunch, I looked around at the other tables. Every time a server took a dish to a table, they were apologizing for the wait. At one of the tables, there were two people. One person got her entree, and the entree for the other person at the same table didn’t get to the table for another twenty minutes. Really? Obviously the folks working the line either didn’t care, or couldn’t figure out how to get things on track. At some point, you stop apologizing, figure out what’s wrong, _fix it_ and move on. And where was a manager during this muckup? Who knows. I never saw a manager the entire time I was in the restaurant. I love PeiWei. So far the best location in the metro in terms of quality and consistency has been the Belle Isle location. I’ve been going to that one since it opened. MWC is hit-or-miss depending on if the line cooks and servers are shooting the breeze with each other, or spending too much time on their smart phones. I won’t set foot in the Moore location again. This is a Titanic just waiting to hit critical mass and capsize.
