I met the owner within minutes of walking in. He looked at what I ordered and have me a sample of something they came up with in house. It was great!! This is my new sushi bar.
I’ve tried pretty much every sushi place in town. And this place by far has the freshest Fish. Their nigiri is on point. While the price may seem high, they are not stingy with the size of their sushi pieces. Compared to GoGo sushi, Sakana has a fresher feel to the ingredient and the rolls are much less over-laden with sauces. This in turn really allows you to appreciate the quality of the food instead of burning out your tastebuds two bites in.
After visiting a PetsMart next door, we decided to try out the new Sakana that opened up in Moore. Walking in, Sakana’s atmosphere and decor was GORGEOUS. We really enjoyed all the Japanese decor and feel, and felt it brought a nice touch to the atmosphere. Our waitress was less than cordial, mostly kept to herself, but seemed tired in her defense. The food was prepared nicely and everything looked great…but the taste was not there. It has been a long time since I have been sick off sushi, but a few of the pieces had my husband and I sick for awhile. We were really hoping that it would be fine, but when it comes to flavor and health, Sakana didn’t do well at all. Still, perhaps it was just an off day, but I know we won’t be returning anytime soon…
