We had a great time at Yokozuna! Service was prompt and our server even gave us a free app to try! We ordered the ceviche and steamed sriracha chicken buns for appetizers and got the pork steam buns for free to try. I would recommend the sriracha chicken over the pork, but they’re both tasty. The ceviche was good, but was literally served on two chips. We got a little giggle out of it. I ordered the hot mess sushi roll for my entree and it was delicious. I can see it being my go-to roll at Yokozuna. My husband ordered the pork belly ramen with a Quail egg and as you can see it’s pretty impressive. It had great flavor and the pork was cooked to perfection. We ordered a Mexican Spice Chocolate Pot de Creme and I thought I died and went to heaven for a sec. We also had the purple haze sake, which was good, but we’d choose regular sake next time.
Mediocre, bland, and overpriced is how I would describe the food. Ramen was tasteless and the pork belly was burnt. I’ll give it another chance down the road but it did not make a good impression.
Nice decor. Pleasant wait staff. The food, not stellar. I had the caterpillar role which was okay but freezing cold. I also had the Route 66 which tasted like a splash of mayo on ice cold rice. Avoid this roll or waste your money. Luckily it was happy hour so I didn’t pay full price. I drank ice tea which is served with a cucumber slice…ugh! Not the dining experience I expected.
