Tiny place with great food.Had some friends from Korea come to visit so we tried this place. I had them order some of their favorite dishes and it was wonderful. We all enjoyed the food and family atmosphere.
So good.. I am one to try new places. Just started working in Shawnee and found this little gem tucked away in a tiny little shop here. I am working through trying everything on the menu. Very good. It was like Kim had us over for dinner at her own kitchen table. She is an outstanding hostess and makes sure you have everything you need while you are eating. We will definitely be making Kim’s Place a weekly lunch venue.
Best place to eat in Shawnee. Kim’s Place serves the best in Asian cuisine in Shawnee and some of the absolute best Korean-style entrees I have eaten anywhere. My son and I got there early and had the place to ourselves. Kim helped us with ordering, made suggestions and brought us extras she thought would go well with our meal at no charge. We received generous portions preceded by the best egg drop soup (truly authentic) I have ever eaten. The kimchee was hot (as it should be), but perfectly pickled and done in house as are all the rest of Kim’s vegetable sides.The dining area only seats 14, but that adds to its charm and allows Kim to truly converse with her customers. She is also a strong Christian woman who can be regularly heard singing spirituals in the back as she does her prep work. It is refreshing to see people who enjoy what they do for a living and to share that joy with their patrons. This place is a treasure that any lover of good food and good people should cherish and a true gem for the city of Shawnee.
Kims Korean Restaurant. We lived in South Korea for a few years and loved the food! Unfortunately Korean food can be difficult to locate in Shawnee so Ms. Kim’s place was a welcome find for us! All of her Korean food is excellent and we especially love the BiBimBap, Kimche, and Dok Bolki!
Great. Kim’s Place is a very small little place that’s been in Shawnee for about 28 years. She and her husband run the restaurant and are both from South Korea. The food is like authentic Korean food. They grow their own vegetables and fruits in their backyard.
