Stopped here for lunch at a recommendation of a Cowboy Alumni and it did not disappoint! The atmosphere was great and the place was clean. You knew it was going to be great food because you could smell it. The restaurant wasn’t too busy about 11:30 but if after the college semester but it did begin to fill up before we left. I got the Charlie Special which was chicken, onions, to die for queso on top of rice served with tortillas. All tasted so great. Perfect portion that you could clean the plate and not fill overly stuffed. The rest of the party complimented their food as well saying it was good. Their empty plates prove that. Definitely would recommend if you’re in the area.
Stillwater Resident, & not someone who is picky about food. I have eaten at the El Tapatio on S. Perkins Road and El Vaquero in town and had good food and service. We decided to try El Tapatio on N. Boomer Rd tonight. It was 6:00pm on a Sunday night, dinner time. There were very few diners in the restaurant. It took us as long to get our chips & drinks as it did our food. Both of our meals had terrible food. The burrito’s and enchiladas were the exact same thing with the exact same meat. The meat tasted spoiled. My chili relleno tasted spoiled. The cheese was chunky and disgusting. My tamale was hard and crumbling. I have never had Mexican food in my life that was so inedible. It was clearly visible that this food was reheated. We both got stomach aches from the food. WILL NOT BE RETURNING. If you want decent Mexican food in Stillwater visit El Vaquero or Fuzzies.
