Good chicken fried steak, catfish, and steak. That is all i have had there so far, but I am looking forward to trying new things, one of the better restaurants in town.
The food would have been great had it been warm. I ordered take out. When I drive up to the restaurant there is a sign for a carryout window. I drive around and over one of those hoses that alerts the restaurant staff of your presence. I stop next to the window and sit there for 5-6 minutes before finally parking and walking in. When I walk in I ask the hostess if the takeout window isn’t a thing anymore. Someone tells one of the hostesses that the bell must be broken. That would be a fine explanation if I hadn’t made eye contact with staff while waiting at their stupid takeout window. If you can see me, I can see you. I saw at least three members stop to look at me and keep going. I would have almost understood if my food wasn’t ready, but I could tell from the temperature of the food that it had sat for awhile. So either everyone that works there couldn’t figure out that even though the bell didn’t ring the guy sitting in his car at the takeout window is a sure fire sign that someone might be there for a takeout order; or they were so busy they themselves couldn’t be bothered to take care of me or even let a hostess know there was a customer waiting at the takeout window. I paid over the Internet all she had to do was hand me my food. I’ve worked in plenty of kitchens and I wouldn’t tolerate this amateur bullshit.
Used to be good but now……… Always enjoyed Freddie Paul’s when in Stillwater but recently I assume it has new management or owners. The buffet for $15+ is horrible. Brown lettuce, dried BBQ brisket, hard meatloaf, dry fried chicken, sticky mac & cheese. Yes, this was the buffet but to top it off was a pan of obviously old frozen cobbler that would be rejected by any military cafeteria. Too bad, never again for us.
Excellent food!! Service was very good. We arrived just when salad bar usually is closed, but they kept it open for us to enjoy. We will definitely be back!!
Worst dining experience ever. Went to FP’s last saturday. Stood at the greeting station about 5 mins. And no one was visible in the reset rant. Finally went and knocked on the kitchen door and a heavy set guy just looked at me thru the door window and ignored me. I saw two waitress types back there jumping up and down dancing. I finally got their attention and one came out and seated us. We ordered tea , and she brought it right out. I asked to see the manager and a female came to our booth. I started with my compliant and she kept asking me where we were from and trying to block what I had to say in an attempt to avoid my compliant. After her making excuses for herself and employees, we went ahead and ordered. They have a half ass salad bar and we selected it with our meal. We walked to the salad bar and there were no utensils or salad prongs to get our selection with. Again I waited for the waitress for several minutes and finally went back to the kitchen door and knocked . The waitresses were back there jumping up and down dancing again. I got their attention and our waitress came out and I said there are no salad tongs our utensils to get items from salad bar . This pissed her off at me, how dare I should expect her to cater to my request. We waited a few minutes and left. We just moved to the Stillwater area and you can imagine our surprise that an Oklahoma resteraunt could stay in business treatin customres like that! Well we two of the 4 people in that place at 1:30 in the afternoon. We immediately drove over to Texas Roadhouse . They were packed and people waiting on a table. Guess I know why now. We’ll Freddie Paul’s we will never be back at your dump. And time will reveal to you the company I retired from and was President of and the major financial institution my wife is CEO of.
I like it. I like Freddie Paul’s when I’m in the mood for a quiet atmosphere and quality food. It’s the only salad bar in Stillwater that I know of. It’s not cheap, but I think it’s worth it when you’re not in the mood to deal with loud, chaotic dining.
