Went for sushi rolls. It seemed expensive for being just decent. No big variety or creativity on menu. Roll names and ingredients were what Ive seen at other generic sushi restaurants. Service was adequate. Server was also bartender but didnt know how to make the drinks. Another customer who sat at the bar had to tell her what Crown Royal was. It took a long time to get anything done despite only having six customers – take order, get drinks, get food and change TV (Thunder game was on that night and server eventually gave up and handed us the remote). It wasnt necessarily a bad experience. Id probably return for the convenience of the location being in The Village, but if proximity wasnt a factor, Id probably go somewhere else.
Let me begin by saying that our family eats sushi often, from Houston to San Fransisco. We went here (Inaka Sushi and Bar, Oklahoma City) yesterday after discovering that Tokyo was closed for the afternoon. Boy, do we wish we had waited. The restaurant itself is attractive. The pop music was way too loud, the server was unfriendly almost to the point of being surly. She took us to our table and immediately (as in the moment we sat down) wanted to take our order. She seemed annoyed that she had to wait. BTW-This was at 2:30 in the afternoon, so we were the only patrons in the restaurant. We ordered 1 water, 2 hot teas, and a Dr Pepper to drink. Our 2 year old grandson was asleep when we arrived, so we didn’t order anything for him. My daughter-in-law doesn’t care for sushi, so she ordered tempura ($16.00). We ordered the largest assortment of sushi they offer ($72.00) for my husband, our son, and myself. The server brought the tempura a full 10 minutes before the sushi. The miso soup was only lukewarm (but tasted good), the tempura was adequate but not anything special. The sushi arrived on the cliched sushi boat. It looked attractive, though. The wasabi was tasteless, and the ginger wasn’t much better. The fish was not as fresh as it should have been, and some of it was downright chewy. Not once did the server offer to refill our drinks. She did so once, only after my son asked her to do so. Our grandson had waked up by this time. She never offered to bring anything for him or even said hello to him. In fact, she never smiled or was friendly during the entire time we were there. The ONLY time she was attentive was at the end of the meal and we had paid. Apparently, she wanted to see how much her tip was. The bill was $112.75; we left $125. We were quiet, well mannered, friendly, and undemanding. Normally, we tip 25%, or more if the service is good. We won’t go back.
Visited for dinner and food was very good. W e had the Katsu Chicken, volcano roll and the California roll. All were excellent! The restaurant is very pretty and evening was very pleasant. Service was very good also!
