I’ve been going here for awhile. It’s close to my house. Say maybe 8 times or so. Last time my wife found a dead cockroach by the hostess station. We left immediately. My friend is a server there and i asked him if its just a fluke and he told me the place is infested. That sucks becuase the food is great. Im sad about it, but im never going back.
I’m an avid fan of El Guapo’s downtown, so I thought this one wouldn’t be much different. I was wrong. The service is awful, the waitress had an apathetic attitude from the very beginning of the meal, even after we tried to stay cheerful. We had to get our own drinks because she only checked on us once. We asked for silverware because we were one short, which she never brought to the table. When the food arrived, it was already cold. The rice was flavorless. The charro beans were the best part of the meal. The bars were great and the bartenders had excellent customer service. I’d advise looking for another place to eat or head to the one downtown if you’re in the mood for Mexican food.
I love the Downtown location, but living on the Southside… This is a fabulous place to dine to save the drive. My friends & I enjoy meeting up for the occasional happy hour as well as taking the family for a good meal too.
