Great sandwich and coffee. Friendly people and clean operation.
Delicious and comfortable. As a TU student, I feel a bit like a traitor saying that I far prefer Foolish Things to the current It Place, the Phoenix, but it’s true. Sure, the Phoenix is funky-cool, but Foolish Things is understated and laid back, which I prefer. Workers are friendly, food is delicious, and the coffee menu is serious without being pretentious. Our food came out slowly, but the gigantic, homemade chocolate chip cookie was the best I’ve had in a long time.
We are from out of town and stumbled upon this coffee shop. It is amazing! Its unique and reminds us of being home in portland! We’ve been back twice and will be back more!
Mediocre coffee, slow service. Rules state that you can only use the wi if for educational purposes. What a joke. The furniture is bland and uncomfortable and sits on a plain concrete floor. This place would be much better with rugs and comfortable seating. Foolish things seems like a good place to go if you are studying at tax and want a break from the main building.
New Option for Downtown Diners!. The atmosphere at Foolish Things Coffee Company is the first thing that greeted me. Having only been open for three months, it’s a comfortable yet functional mix of old and new. The menu is simple yet offers plenty of options. Although I missed the baked potato soup, I thoroughly enjoyed the #1 today and will be back to sample the rest of the menu. The pita chips and hummus dip is a refreshing alternative to the normal fare of side choices. Justin, the owner, is very personable and easy to talk to. I will certainly do my part to recommend this establishment to my sphere of influence. One recommendation: You might consider offering a gluten-free bread/wrap option so that those of your customers who are GF may enjoy your sandwiches also.
Love the atmosphere and thought the pumpkin muffins were delicious. Can’t wait to go back and try more goodies!
Good, could be better. Disclaimer: I went in thinking this was a coffee shop. It’s more like a caf with coffee on the menu. So, I didn’t try the food but the menu looked good. As a coffee shop, there are better options in town. The coffee itself was above average but I wouldn’t say it is good as doubleshot or topeca — although I think foolish things brews topeca’s beans. The atmosphere is clean and quiet but more suited for eating, not sitting down with some coffee. After working for 30 minutes I was very uncomfortable – the hard chairs are too short for the tall tables. I will come back to try the lunch, but will stick to the other coffee shops when I want to sit down and work.
