SERIOUSLY. I tried this place again. My mistake. I ordered a chai latte to go. I paid 5 dollars for a chai that may have been the 12 oz size. This is how much a 20 oz chai cost at Starbucks, but whatever. I asked for it extra hot not extra foam. Well, the chai came out like a cappuccino. My ‘chai latte’ probably weighed about half an ounce and was 2/3 filled with foam when it was handed to me. I was in a hurry and wasn’t confident she could remake it, although I tipped her 2 dollars on top of the price (before I tasted it). By the time I got to class, it had sunken down to maybe a fourth of the to go cup full of scathing hot burned milk and unstirred chai syrup. PLEASE train your staff. You have a great selection of syrups, good product and you are literally throwing it away and wasting every dime you spend on good supplies for your store because no one can make a latte properly. I like the interior of this store but that’s it. I’m not going to pay 5 dollars for this junk to stare at some cool murals. When 3/3 experiences have been awful, I give up. I seriously think the only people that must go here are older people that are catching on sort of late to the coffee house trend and don’t understand what good coffee tastes like. Try Cafe Cubana’s lattes… please, staff of Gypsy, I beg you to go there and try them.

Uhh… what is with this place?. After reading all the great reviews on here we were excited to try it. Well, after we drank our lukewarm lattes that did not taste like espresso remotely, that had been spilled all over the table we were sitting at-with fully a 1/6 of the cup splashing out… we were underwhelmed. At 6$ a cup that’s 2$ worth of coffee splashed about. We didn’t complain but I have worked as a barista thrice in the past and happen to know for a fact that there is no way the milk was steamed to temperature fresh for each drink or that all six shots in our drinks were pulled individually to spec. The clientele seems a little kooky, and not in an Urban Outfitters sense, in a just-off the Greyhound bus from rural Iowa because they may or may not have a criminal record sense. Anyway, I wanted to like this place. Feel a little uncomfortable there and it was 12 dollars ill spent.

Best cappuccino I’ve ever had! Also went ahead and ordered a veggie wrap–delicious! Very friendly staff, very slow service, but this is very common for a GOOD coffee shop. You can’t rush perfection. Pricey menu. High tech receipt service, they will send it by text or email. Its like this iPad thingy and you have to sign with your finger. I did a fairly decent job at it 🙂

Gypsy Coffee House now open in the mornings!. Starting January 3rd, Gypsy Coffee House is open at 7:00 a.m.!! Went by this morning and got a great Americano. I thought Gypsy was new but found out this morning they have been there 13 years.

Best cocoa ever!. Their coconut hot chocolate is so yummy! Rich and creamy, the best cocoa I’ve ever had!!

Mediocrity at its finest.. As far as not-good coffee shops go, I kind of like this one. By all means, the drinks I’ve had here were poor. But the atmosphere is fun and the baristas were very nice. I’ll go back, but only if I’m drinking tea or something that isn’t coffee.
