Great food, service and beautiful decor. My friends from eastern France and Hong Kong were delighted at our choice of dinner at The Hen Bistro! They were only in town for the evening, and we wanted to make sure they had a memorable dining experience! They were so excited about the selections on that evening’s menu – we picked several appetizers so we could all share. It was difficult choosing an entree because everything looked great! The server was attentive, and the ambiance was cozy and charming – everyone had a great time! Seeing Grant in the kitchen as we arrived and being greated by the Chef was very impressive to our guests – We will be back soon!

New Years flop. I really love the French Hen and was excited to try their new Hen Bistro on Brookside. We had New Years reservations and was excited to try their special chefs menu. Service was very slow….20 minute wait before our drink or food order was taken. Waiter was courteous and I did enjoy the quaint atmosphere. We both chose the Lobster Thermador ($70 plate) at the waiters recommendation. It was lukewarm and mine was overcooked and spouses was under cooked. The waiter offered to bring me something else but service was so slow we would have missed our party. The sides were asparagus wrapped in prosciutto with absolutely no flavor. The mashed potatoes were also lukewarm and no flavor. There was a small dash of super salty spinach on the plate that was inedible alone. I ended up mixing a small portion of it with the potatoes for flavor. The salad was good but consisted of huge lettuce pieces. The best part of the entire meal was the crab cake appetizer.I truly wanted to love this newer restaurant but after $200 I won’t be trying it again anytime soon.
