I went here with my Husband for a Saturday breakfast and coffee. We were intrigued that this shop is aChristian outreach program. From the jobs provided to the money made, I was impressed that this all goes to missions. It is decorated in a very cute way! Lots of antique furniture, a fireplace, and books. Loved the atmosphere. Having said that, I was not impressed with the food or drinks. I decided to try a hot Chia Tea and Biscuits and Gravy. The tea came out quickly. The tea tasted good and sweet however it was warm not hot. One of the better Chai teas I have had. The food was yucky. The biscuits were not hot. The gravy was white soup. There was no seasoning in the gravy and also, it was warm not hot. Maybe because we came right at opening time, items had not had a chance to warm up but I was really disappointed. Reading the positive review on other sites, I am surprised by the food and drink quality I got. I struggle with trying this place again.
Nice furniture but average coffee and food My wife and I went here for breakfast on a Saturday morning shortly after they opened at 7:30 am. She got 2 biscuits with gravy and a chai tea. I got a raisin bran muffin with half decaf/half regular coffee. I don’t need much caffeine to keep me wired, so that is why I ordered the half decaf/half regular coffee. The server behind the counter was glad to do that for me. She also offered to microwave my muffin to warm it up. My muffin was pretty good, but I could have used more bran taste and less sweetness in it. I tried a bite of my wife’s biscuit and gravy. I agreed with her when she said that the biscuits were nothing special and that the gravy was too watery. It also needed some pepper, but fortunately there is a pepper mill at every table. My coffee hit the spot, but it was not better than Starbucks. I am not a coffee connoisseur, though. I like my coffee with some cream and sugar or stevia. My wife wished that her chai tea was served piping hot instead of lukewarm. Other than that, it was sweet enough for her. We may be back for hot drinks but not for breakfast again.
