Ok bbq. Being from somewhere that’s perfected bbq I can say this about uncle jacks. it has some decent flavor and great potential, I’ve tried this place 3 times hoping to get the food actually prepared hot, as in coming out of the smoker within the last 5 min at least. I’ve been disappointed every time, I truly believe it’s due to the volume of customers, hard to prepare for what you don’t know. kudos to this establishment for turning out decent product. I’ll give em 3 out of 5

Sweet Tea!. I’m very picky about my barbeque, so I’ve driven by this place numerous times and always talked myself out of going in. Boy, am I sorry I waited! I was in Amity one Saturday with a friend and we decided to stop in just to check out the menu, but when we walked in the door, the smell convinced us to stay! I had a pulled pork sandwich and it was fantastic! The meat was tender and moist and there was just enough of the sauce to give it a tang without making the bread soggy. The cole slaw was crisp and tasty, the baked beans were hot and had the right amount of spice to them and my friend raved about the brisket (it was evidently too good to share). The restaurant itself was clean and cozy, even on a cold winter day, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I was most excited by the drink offerings, though. When I asked if they had iced tea, I was offered the choice of sweet or unsweet, something you don’t hear much in this part of the country. I, of course, had sweet tea. This is worth the drive to Amity! I’ll be back!
