Consistently the best restaurant in Southern Oregon. Pricey, but worth it for an occasional special night. Friendly staff, good food. The only authentic French restaurant around.
Another lovely meal for us, from amuse bouche (cauliflower soup waa stunning) through duck confit, also sweetbreads then hanger steak, also rib eye, finishes with cheese, also gingerbread. The Drouhin Oregon pinot noir was a nice twist on the usual. In a town where nearly all the expensive restos offeri uneven meals-more ambitious than successful-with service to match, Amuse is a welcome spot to enjoy food well-prepared, every time.
Consistently great dining. The endive salad was fresh and crisp. The sea scallops were as good as last year, perfectly cooked and well matched with baby Brussels sprout leaves and mashed potatoes. The game hen in truffle oil was crispy outside and tender inside accompanied by fingerling potatoes and kale. The beignets were fluffy and soft. All in all a wonderful meal.
Bad food. Barely edible. Bad salmon. I told them I was not happy and they didnt replace it and still charged me. I didnt even eat it 1/3 of it.
Libby. Awful!A waste of money and calories
Clean, Fresh, and Simple. I’ve been here four times, and the best dishes I’ve had are the hen, the sweatbreads, and the beignets. The only drawbacks are that it can be very expensive for this town, but recently they’ve offered a deal Thursday nights the Prix Fixe is 30-35 dollars.
I have no idea why the other reviewer did not like this restaurant — other than the fact that he clearly has no mastery over the english language — because when we went to Amuse, the food at was fantastic, as was the service. The menu is seasonal, and on the night we visited, had a many choices of light, fresh, and very flavorful dishes. The presentation of the food — right down to the fresh baked bread — was excellent, as were the portion sizes. The prices on the menu are reflective of Amuse’s choices to serve locally grown, amazingly fresh, and well prepared food. This restaurant is also all about the little details, and the whole eating experience. I could go on about Amuse, but you should try it for youself. I would allow at least two hours to enjoy your meal, and to make a reservation.
