Everything from the amazing service to the delicious food far surpassed my expectations. The waitress was polite and extremely attentive. I think the burger may have been the best I’ve ever had. It is definitely the best burger in Ashland. I would highly recommend this place.
Really wonderful dinner and atmosphere. From the point of view of both a vegetarian (mine) and a pork-lover (my husband) it was a perfect dinner including dessert. And I don’t even eat dessert. And everyone there was genuinely nice. We will go back.
Wonderful !. We went last night to ‘The Loft’ in Ashland for a last minute post New Year’s dinner with my son before he heads back to Law School. He Absolutely Loves French food but we are vegan… well, Jacquelyn there accommodated us with a last minute roasted veggies and lentils with no dairy, no wheat, no gluten and no meat, (odd, right, for a French restaurant)?, which was Amazing! …and served up my son’s favorite French Crab Macaroni and Cheese… their beer and cosmos were The Best and their quaint location made us feel like we were in France, with a table that could not be beat! table #6, check it out! Our servers were genuinely kind and easy and very caring to make certain we had all we needed, not on top of us but always noticing if water or whatever needed to happen! This place is now a favorite of mine! Keep up the Great Ambiance and Food and Attitudes Everyone, you are lovely! 🙂

Delicious Food, Beautiful Patio Overlooking Creek!. This is a perfect place to meet friends, especially on a nice day when you can sit out on the shaded 2nd story patio and listen to the sounds of the creek and birds. Wonderful mix of foods and flavors, for carnivores and herbivores alike. Especially liked the baked macaroni gratin with roasted vegetables on the side, as well as the arugula & beet salad with goat cheese, toasted filberts, and sherry vinaigrette. The mint & lime cooler was refreshing and unique. Service was fine, and overall I think this is one of the more interesting casual places to have lunch in Ashland.
When they are good, they are very good. We are Ashland locals and have eaten here several times. We have had some outstanding meals and service but once or twice it has been on the mediocre side. I like the small plates and the fact that their recipes, even for standards like mac and cheese, mini Wellingtons and onion soup usually have a little different twist. Wine selection is quite good. The atmosphere is pleasant, but It’s in an old building with high ceilings and hard plaster walls so the acoustics sometimes make conversation difficult. If that’s important to you, ask for one of the small side dining rooms. The staff and management are pleasant, friendly and seem eager to please the customer.
I am a regular. I live in Ashland so eat here at lunchtime and avoid peak theatre dining times, as I do with all restaurants here in town. The food is great and comes in perfect portions for lunch time, it tastes terrific and is affordable. Sitting outside in summer and looking down on the creek makes this my favorite lunchtime venue for dining alfresco. Service is always charming, attentive and usually prompt.
