If you are like we have been, we have driven through Astoria a number of times, sometimes stopping along the main road to sight see and grab something to eat. We had never gone along their waterfront path to discover so much more. You can start down by the Astoria Bridge and walk into town, maybe 2.5 to 3 miles. Along the way, as you get closer to the heart of town, you will find places to eat and drink. One of them is Buoy Beer Company. You might hear the seals calling as you get close. You can see them from the glass floor inside. On a cloudy, cool Saturday in August, around 11, there was a 45 minute wait, so we continues our walk toward town. We got quickly seated upon our return. Service was friendly. Menu was fairly typical for this kind of place. Prices were pretty reasonable. Food was very good. On the premises brews were tasty. It would be a place to which we would return. Very spacious dining area with a view of the water. As mentioned, very busy, which I think speaks for itself.
Food was good and fresh. Shrimp Louie salad was really good. The oyster app was amazing with jalapeno jelly and goat cheese. My daughter really enjoyed her salmon and the burger was serviceable. Great view of the bay from almost anywhere in the restaurant. The glass floor with the sea lions right below was certainly a hit with my daughter. The beer was pretty awesome as well.
Food and service were great. The only negative was the fries. They were frozen and not cooked well enough. A horrible pairing to excellent fried rock fish. I would suggest fresh home cut fries to compliment your wonderful fresh made entres.
Rueben Sandwich Special. The meat was so tough, I had to use a knife to cut up the sandwich.
Fun food and atmosphere, good service!. This restaurant has a great view, as it is right on the water, and the sea lions congregate here! The service was friendly and effici8ent. We had EXCELLENT fish and chips, exdcellent hard cider (on tap), and very good green chile pistachios. We’d definitely eat here again.
Service needs some work. Service and attitude need some work. A late dinner resulted in some of the worst service ever experienced. The staff was not friendly, informative and got our order wrong twice. Being charged for ranch dressing added To our frustration, especially when the menu offered a choice of sauce/dressing. The two waitstaff were preoccupied with the other 4 tables and 3 people at the bar. Very disappointing as the service received is something one would expect in an extremely crowded restaurant, not with minimal tables. I hope the owners monitor a little closer as this is clearly going to hurt business as there are multiple brew pubs in town. We ventured out to try a new place but will go back to Fort George for friendly service and better food.
