Alfredo. Clam Chowder. The clam chowder is said to be award-winning. It is outstanding, do not fail to try it.08 May, 2015Salmon and Fried Oysters. The salmon stuffed with pink shrimp, crab and Gouda has got to be the best salmon dish I’ve ever eaten. Foodgasm for sure.

Great Food. My wife and I had lunch here recently and we really enjoyed our food. I have to admit, the servers messed up my order and a friend’s order who was with us but the food was so delicious that I overlooked it. I had the smoked salmon and spinach salad and I enjoyed every morsel of it. The salmon was flaky, juicy and flavorful and the other components of my salad really went together well. My wife had the tortellini with blackened salmon and raved about the flavors. If you’re in Astoria I would highly recommend this restaurant, I want to fly back out there myself just to get some more of that salmon!

Nice for Lunch. We pulled into town, on a Monday, without knowing anything about Astoria except the name of our hotel. We needed to eat, so pulled over & parked then looked around. Silver Salmon caught our eye – open for lunch! Cheerful greetings from the crew on duty, prompt seating and ready banter. Went for simple – Clam Chowder, with side of house cheese bread. Solid chowder, plenty of clams and clam flavor – hit the spot for me. Cheese bread was mistake on my part – failed to read the details. This appeared to be cream cheese with heavy herb mixture, tasty at first few bites, however it turned out much too salty – low sodium diet people beware. I would go back and try the dinner menu, no hesitation.

Great Place. If you read a number of reviews you see complaints. Maybe some deserved. My visit was great, I am a foodie that loves to cook. We had great service with quality food. The salmon and fried oysters were well prepared, desert was great (attention chocolate lovers). The wine list was OK; but I would have preferred more Oregon wines. Entrees are a tad pricey; but smaller portions are available. I will return.

The restaurant on first impression felt like a funeral parlor. A very stuffy and static atmosphere. We had the halibut fish and chips which were acceptable, but excessively greasy. I will not go again.

Too bad the service is horrible. Silver Salmon has quite the rep, however everytime I have tried to eat a meal here, the service is so slow and horrible I end up leaving after one cocktail (if we can get the server to get us that). Loose the your here you will wait attude and at least greet your guest at the table or bar.

Low Carb friendly! Amazing food and service…. We were in Astoria on vacation and based on the reviews here (and seeing a low carb option on their online menu) we picked Silver Salmon for my birthday dinner. I am so glad we did.My husband got the Dungeness crab/Parmesan [crab]cakes. He said they were very good but said my steak was better. His soup (the chowder) was very good flavor. All made with fresh ingredients and served hot.I did the rib-eye steak (med rare) with bourbon pepper sauce. It was perfectly cooked and delicious. But I actually enjoyed my salad the most! The vegetables were fresh, the toppings were generous and crunchy, and the vinaigrette (which i usually don’t care for) was the perfect flavor to enhance all of the other flavors. I wish I could have had seconds! We got 2 higher priced entrees with 2 tap beers and an 18% tip for less than $70 (pretty good for the quality and wonderful service). Only negatives: there isn’t really a view, as this is in town and not on the water. But it was foggy so pier eating wouldn’t have had a view anyway. Also, our table was nice and in a back corner but some of the other 2 person tables were really close together. So get there early if you want some privacy.
