Go elsewhere. This is, without a doubt, the worse eatery in Astoria if not all of Oregon. My wife wanted to ‘give it a try’ and we would not return if they were paying us to eat their food. The teriyaki sauce tasted awful: imagine dirt and charcoal mixed with vinegar that has sat out for several days. The deep fried vegetable roll was gushing oil, oil that tasted old and used to deep fry everything. The prawns, also deep fried in the same rancid oil as the roll I assume, where labeled ‘prawns’ on the menu but the actual shrimp, when stripped of the coating, looked like 50 count shrimp at Safeway or Costco. My wife’s hardboiled ribs had huge pieces of black char from the grill that looked like it had not been cleaned in weeks. The best part of our experience was walking out the door after paying $33 for the few bites we could choke down.

MEAN OWNER and just blah food. This is in a strip mall, so we just wanted filler. Our expectations were low and the food would have been tolerable and what we expected, but for the price, the rudeness and ripped off, I had to write. I usually don’t take the time to write, but really felt like I should warn people. I can only talk about the food I had, so the teriyaki sauce and gyoza sauce (that I had to go back for as they didn’t give to me in my take out) was watered down. The chicken a little rubbery. Rice was ok and the gyoza was only 1/2 filled. So again, all that would have been ok, but the owner yelled at my husband when he went back for the gyoza sauce. He was rude when we ordered, he charged me a dollar more than the menu said and it was a terrible experience. We left feeling shaky (upset for being yelled at) and angry and overcharged for the amount of mediocre food at best. Stay far away.

Make a cafe with deli sandwhiches in this spot!!. I stopped in because I drive by it alot, often wonering to the Taco place that5 stood here a few monthes ago.I will never eat there agaion. for one thing, it’s costly, much more the one in Gearheart Mall on 101. I got it to go, and lucky I did! The chicken was way over cooked, and where’s the terriaki/ I saw some on a few of the chicken. I’d say this one was a tanker…Sorry

DRY chicken. Teriyaki, as we know it, is Hawaiian not Japanese, there is a strong Japanese influence, it is fusion at its best, when it has had generations to meld and be perfected. If the place says Hawaiian teriyaki chances are it will be good (Hawaiian BBQ is even better). I have now been twice and both times the chicken has been bone dry (half way to jerky). The sauce has good flavor… but not great… lacking the real sweet/salt balance. Their spicy version is good but lacks the garlicky hit of Korean style BBQ. As much as I really want to support a small business… if you are in Astoria and really need teriyaki… you should probably make it at home.
