Cute and funky little Mexican dive bar/ restaurant. It is fairly small inside but we didn’t have to wait for a table. Our waiter was very friendly and had great recommendations on the menu. I got the vegetarian corn/mushroom tacos and to elated surprise they were wonderful and full of flavor. Most vegetarian tacos are boring and bland but these popped (could be too spicy for some) and were plenty filling as a meal. The guacamole was bland and not very much for $7. My husband got the salmon dinner with gingered rice and apricot salsa and he said the flavors were unbelievable. Unfortunately his salmon was pretty undercooked but they gladly took it back and fixed it and took it off of our bill. We went fairly late and it was still kid friendly. If I am ever back in Bend I would like to try their vegetarian paella as I have never been able to get it anywhere else and I’m sure it would have lots of good flavor.

Amazing vegetarian tapas and Paella. Grab a high end bottle from the amazing wine shop next door, pay corkage. Ask for the center table. Be open to eating with strangers. Awesome staff. And great wine list. Worth it.

Really wanted to like this place. My husband and I have eaten at a lot of tapas restaurants, and this one just wasn’t up to our expectations. My husband’s ribs were served cold and then they messed up his taco order. The food was only mediocre as far as flavor. On a positive note, my shrimp salad with plantains, sweet potato and avocado was quite good. I could tell they were really trying here, but sadly, missing the mark.

Go There!. New restaurant in Bend. Very inventive menu + delicious flavors. Cooks have a good hand in the kitchen. House flatbread and patatas brava tapas were excellent .

I enjoyed this restaurant a lot. My husband and I joined another couple for dinner and we ordered the chorizo paella and several tapas and everyone shared. I recommend doing it that way so you get to try several menu items. I’m looking forward to going back to try other things.

Best flavor per bite in Bend. This place is the best kept secret in town. It doesn’t matter what local party you go to in Bend, once you mention the food that these guys serve up, you will see people’s eyes light up and everyone else starts jumping in with their own stories about how Barrio is best meal they’ve ever had. Sure, their prices have gone up a little bit since the owners were the Dynamic Duo food cart guys . . . but this is still the most unique, fun, flavorful food in Bend. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve come home and bragged to my wife about the lunch I had at Barrio, or in the middle of a meal, felt the urge to immediately text my friends in town and tell them that they need to go to Barrio today because these guys are currently topping their salads with chili-rubbed pop-corn or sprinkling their watermelon slices with some exotic blend of Mexican spices or simply because I’m having the best tacos, soup, or sandwich that I’ve ever had in my life. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve actually been tempted to pick up my plate and lick it clean right there in front of everyone in the restaurant. This food is that good. I have no idea what prompted some of the negative reviews on this site, but those reviews definitely aren’t stopping me from eating at Barrio every chance I get. Trust me. Try it. You will be amazed, and you will have a tough time not telling everyone you meet about the meal that you had here.

We really enjoyed our sidewalk dinner. The Spanish rice with chorizo was our favorite part.
