Cottage-style house with a quaint pub atmosphere. I had the grilled chicken jalapeo sandwich with kettle chips, and a cold, local Boneyard RPM. The chicken fillet was grilled to juicy perfection, enveloped in melted pepper jack cheese, jalapeos, and a toasted sesame seed bun. The bun could have been a bit more fresh, but overall not a deal breaker. Service was average. But overall, a positive dining experience.

There is a lot of pub food in Bend. Done right it is a comfort food that can satisfy and please, done wrong and you are left with a tummy ache and load of regrets. Went to Brother Jon’s for lunch and ordered the Buffalo Chicken Salad and the Cajun pasta. The chicken on the salad was cooked very well, juicy and warm with pleasing undertone of the grill and a flavorful hot sauce clung well to the meat. The salad itself was fresh with romaine lettuce and chopped carrots and celery. It was not overly dressed but the blue cheese chunks were too big. It would have been nicer to have had the cheese crumbled and spread more evenly throughout the salad. The Cajun pasta was not pretty to look at but had a good mix of flavors from the sausage and what looked like roasted poblano peppers with a slightly creamy Cajun sauce. The sauce did all drain to the bottom of the plate but had a pleasantly spicy kick with a warm creamy finish. The beer selection could use an upgrade in my opinion. Plus the beer menu was a little busy and hard to read. I prefer when the list has the name and type of beer out front with a description following that. Here it was all kind of muddled together. Overall the food was good however the portion sizes were a little too big for my taste. Service was prompt and pleasant and I would definitely return.
