I’m only giving this place a 3.5 because the beer is great. The food sucked bad! $10 burger that was dry as hell. Might as well been a sawdust puck!
Deschutes Breweries is one of the best breweries I have ever visited. The food was outstanding and very reasonably priced for the quality and portion sizes. I ordered the Elk Burger, which was hearty and delicious. The house made vinagrette that accompanied my side salad was also very good. My boyfriend ordered the beef rib, which was huge and succulent. The beer was also enjoyable, but not the best we have ever had. Overall, as an experience, this place is not to be missed!
Nice setting with good food—and beer–. This is a great place to introduce folks to the area of culinary experience and a top level brewery.
Went here last night for dinner and our food was FANTASTIC! The only complaint is that the service wasn’t that great (our server forgot a drink for about twenty minutes). Overall though would definetely eat here again.
Good, fair and could use some work. That about sums up my visit. First the good – the soups. Had the French onion and the cod chowder. Both were well done. The French onion was rich and not overly salted. Only improvement would be to toast the cheese a wee bit. Little time under the salamander and it would have been perfect. The pulled pork sandwich was good as well but needed just a little more sauce. Now for the fair. The Buffalo wings were nothing special. Sauce was average and the wings could have been a little crisper. The Italian chopped salad was ok too. What you’d expect from a decent bar. The things that could use some work include the cole slaw which tastes like it came out of a jar. Finally the elk burger. Asked for it medium it was overdone. Also a little salt and pepper on the burger would have given it some flavor. As it was the meat was bland and so were the toppings and the condiment they put on it. Oh wait, the beer. That was excellent!! Overall a mixed bag.
Amazing. The service was outstanding. We had one of the friendliest servers ever. I had the elk burger with caramelized onions. My wife had the flatiron steak. I asked my burger to be cooked medium rare it was cooked absolutely perfect, my wife’s steak was asked to be cooked medium rare which a lot of steak houses do not understand what that means, it came out flawless. The elk burger was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Oh yeah the beer is excellent too, don’t forget about the beer. We will make it a point to go to this brewery every time we go back to Bend. I can honestly say this brewery had the best brewery food I have ever had.
