I’m from south Texas, so I’m used to having good, cheap Mexican food readily available. I had the carne asada tacos and they were good, actually tasted like real Mexican. Prices aren’t bad either, I’ve paid more for much worse here in Oregon.
Had worse Mexican food in Cali. Service is always quick. I always order the same thing enchilada verde and I am never disappointed. Also get the black beans .
Expensive Mexican. El Rancho Grande looked almost brand new. We had a few dishes but their albondigas soup (mexican meatballs) was a serious disappointment. Besides getting charged around $10 for each large serving, the soup tasted watery with no real mexican flare, no skills shown on this one. We also had an avocado salsa made in from of us where they use one and a half avocados, plus onions, cilantro, and jalapeos and it was tasty but once again we felt, overly expensive. They did present different colors tortillas chips and they tasted very warm and fresh. Had a quesadilla plate (nothing to write home about) and some carnets tacos.Overall the place was decent but the final numbers made us cringe a little bit. The servers were warm and hospitable and this place is located in a mall area, that looked also almost new. Apparently people in Bend, Oregon, are not missing any of the modern looks the newer malls have. According to the prices this place is not very economical but we saw lots of people about.El Rancho Grande gets a decent 3 Stars, mostly for that guacamole salsa prepared at ringside. Very tasty. All other food needs to be revised by a more competent cook. 3 Stars.
MEH!! It is ok, Not great… Not terrible, I would honestly say the food is just average. Here is the problem with this Restaurant…… The SMALL portions are spread THINLY on HUGE dinner platter plates, Makes you think you are getting a big meal….. When you really are just getting smaller portions. How many times have you left a Mexican Restaurant HUNGRY…. after spending $14 on a Combo Plate with side Taco.So to sum it up…. Food was average, service was good, ambiance is nice… Food is really expensive for what little you get.
Courteous service. Fabulous food with large portions. Sauces were spicy and flavorful. Flexible menu and service for families with small children.
Mediocre at best, similar to other Mexican food restaurants. Not worth going out of your way for. The refried beans are not vegetarian either, which is disappointing.
Best Mexican In Bend!!!. Best Mexican food, from Burritos to Fajitas to fried ice cream. Its all good! The service is 2nd to none! Thanks El Rancho!
