As soon as I discovered this modest eatery had been voted best ethnic restaurant in Bend, it was relegated to my do list for our short 3 night visit to the area. The restaurant is not very large and it was packed this Sunday evening so we opted to sit outside on the deck under a heater. Our meal began with an order of babaganouj (roasted eggplant with tahini sauce, fresh lemon and garlic) accompanied by an unusual and delicious pita that we (mostly me) could not stop dipping into the banganouji. For an entree my wife and I each chose kebabs, lamb for her and chicken for me. Our skewers were accompanied by tzatziki sauce, rice pilaf and kebaba salad. Both meals were wonderful though the pilaf was on the dry side requiring a dollop or two of the tzatziki sauce. Prices are more than reasonable and service, considering the number of diners this evening, was very good.
